I need a website which ids obviously relevant to A particular locality in the UK.

Chrissie😊
Nope, it is NOT a supported TLD.
You would want to buy it from elsewhere and point it to WA servers.
To update your domain DNS settings, point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

Hi
I am trying in vain to verify my new website with Google.
I have checked all the trainings but none seems to be up to date any more.
To start with, Google webmas
You need to verify all 4 versions of your website:
http://
https://
http://www.
https://www.
And the easiest way is to use your SEO plugin. Google Verification Using All In One SEO Google Verification Using Yoast SEO
Thank you so much for your reply Marion.
I use Yoast, and I have gone through your training, which is really clear, but my problem is that as I have moved all the content from my previous website to my new one, I cannot find the right place to add the HTML code. I have tried, but obviously I did put it in the wrong place, as it did not work!!
If I may, I will send you a screenshot of my header-php page which may show you my problem.
Very many thanks
Chrissie :)
Sorry, you can see there where I have tried to add the code.
It is really kind of you to try to help Marion :)
NONONONONO You don't paste the HTML file into the head of your page, Chrissie. You get the code as I show in the video and paste it into Yoast.
Chrissie, if you go to Search Console and type into help Verify my website it gives you the steps of what to do to verify your site and gives you the codes you need to.
Hope you are well Chrissie. Nice to see you, it's been a while. xxx

Hi
I have just purchased a new domain, and I am bemused by the choice of themes!!
I would really love some recommendations as to the best free websites for a blogging sit
If I can just ask, is there a reason why you are determined to use a free website theme?
Themes don't have to be that expensive. My favorite one was about $65, and that came with incredible support for all of the countless functionalities built in.
It's not a huge expense, but it can make all the difference in your ability to do the things you want to do to turn your vision into reality.
i would be looking at astra or oceanwp or generatepress.
but generatepress has dumbed down what you can customize with the free version - the pro version ( at the moment with 20%off) is available for unlimited sites.
but my personal favourite is astra at the moment....
good luck with your choice
phil
there is at least one plugin to assist you with any minor css mods to yuor theme if you find one that almost is perfect.
but as kyle says - plain is best - and viitors are there to get the answer to their query rather than being dazzled with pretty lights...
As a newbee, I still don't understand the Theme idea and how to apply it. I get these pics popping up like twenty twenty, etc that have nothing to do with my web site and can't figure out what to do with them.
In anycase I wish you luck in your journey and would love to hear about what theme you came up with and what you did to apply it.
That would not only be helpful to me but very exciting for us both.
Best,
Aaron
Thank you for your reply Aaron, I will let you know how I get on. I had to get a new domain because my original website sadly disappeared!! So it is very daunting to have to start all over again!!
All the best
Chrissie :)
Aaron, if you've chosen a theme during the process of going through Kyle's training it will show in your wordpress back office when you're in there.
There may well be several themes showing but you don't need them all. You can go ahead and delete the ones you aren't using but you can't accidentally delete your current theme.
In your dashboard, go to appearance > themes and click on the theme(s) you want to delete. Then click on the delete button at the bottom right hand corner.

Disappeared? Hmmm! Is there anyway to retrieve it, maybe in your browser history or something like that? That's so weird and so upsetting I'm sure. But you know what. Your next one will be easier and better and more fun and I'll be happy to share your success along the way.
Keep your chin up, Kiddo! It'll all be fine once the Clouds have passed.
Best,
Aaron
I have used various free themes and funny enough just looking at Generate press... I have had issues with slow page loading and although have sorted many issues the remaining ones such as render blocking. Have been told this is probably theme related. Sounds like generated press is the way to go maybe. Looks like we have a majority decision Chrissies... lol
Another vote for generate press from me Chrissie and this might help you too... Configuring The Free Version Of The GeneratePress Wordpress Theme Good luck...Mark

Hi Chrissie. If you mean QSR then that is not important in choosing your site and domain name. Your site name doesn't have any influence on your rank in google, just your content.
Just be sure that the name you choose has relevance to your niche and, preferably, is not too long.
Hope that helps.
Colette and Philip
You are welcome, Chrissie. We are sorry you have had this problem but good luck with the new/old website.
Not that important anymore. Sure if you can have your doamin name as a keyword that's fine.
When it comes to a domain name you want to think branding first.
I did a post about picking a domain name - The Perfect Domain Name I also did another post - The Radio Test For Your Domain Name Remember it's your content that will get rankings for that traffic, well before your domain name (site) will.
Hoope that helps
