THREE Months Update

Hey WA friends,

I promised myself that I would write monthly updates. And I write them with two purposes in mind not one of which is for you to read every detail. I acknowledge that you have your own path to walk, and so, it’s not necessary to read everything I write here. But having said that, I write this for two reasons.

First, I am trying to keep myself accountable. I guess you could say it’s like a personal journey/diary. I want to write it down to review at a later time and be thankful for the journey I have taken.

Second, I am hoping that someone (not all) will find commonality with my journey and actually read through the details. And maybe it might help that person in his/her writing strategies and perspective.

So, here's a quick overview of the steps I took to get to this point and the lessons I learned along the way. It will include a bare-bones overview of the previous updates which you can access yourself for more details.

.

SECOND MONTH OVERVIEW: 12/5/2014 to 1/5/2015
Link to WA blog: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pastortae/blog/my-two-months-update

The second month does not have the specific target dates as the first month. The first month contained a lot of specific set up work and milestones, hence the specific dates. But the second month felt very different. It was more about the actual work of website building and community engaging.

1. I put my head down and wrote
2. I engaged the community more as a helper and even some socializing and made friends. And I understood the importance of the community in helping me build my sites and keeping me motivated.
3. Continued to do little-important things: i.e. security features, dropbox backup, logos, design

.

THE THIRD MONTH: 1/5/15 to 2/5/15

I had great anticipation coming into the third month. Honestly, I was hoping for some kind of sign from above or some breakthrough. (Maybe because I read somewhere or someone at WA said something about the third month being some kind of indicator). But here I am looking back on the third month and it was similar to the second month (!) in that it was still about the hard work of creating websites, understanding the strategy, and writing....and then writing some more. Sure, there were different and unique things I have learned, but it wasn’t the breakthrough I had hoped for.

Here’s a quick overview

1. I began to understand my own unique path and how it impacted the generation of income. my niche is more spiritual and so it's just different. I wrote about the unique challenges and the ways to generate finances. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pastortae/blog/funding-your-work

2. I built 4 websites: Why? https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pastortae/blog/why-i-built-4-websites

3. I began to understand the overall direction I must go and it involves things much larger than building websites. I do believe I have bigger fish to fry. And so, I hope to write about that in the coming months after I have tested this vision. And along the way, I hope to draw interested from churches, non-profit organizations, and generous donors.

4. Newsletters, Optins, Squeeze pages, oh my!: I am still at the fork in the road about such things. I know it’s a no-brainer for most, but for me, I am still not sure how I should connect with my audience, since most visitors come to my sites looking for spiritual answers and not with a credit card in hand to buy a microwave.

5. www.pastortae.com as the central hub. This website was built about 9 years ago with GoDaddy as the host. And after receiving notice from them that it will expire on March 3, I began the process of moving everything over to Wealthy Affiliate. I wrote about it:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pastortae/blog/i-m-moving

That original site is huge with all of my teachings and services. But this is an important move for my future. I hope to have a grand opening in March. With this move, this site will be the coordinator for all the other sites. Speaking of the other sites….

6. I built 8 websites! Feel free to call me crazy. I wrote about the overview of these 8:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pastortae/blog/the-overview

But as I said, there is a master plan ahead and it’s much bigger than websites. My hope and prayer is to be able to realize this bigger vision before the end of my one year commitment to WA (on Black Friday 2015)

7. The drama of writing religious posts at WA. This third month brought a clearer understanding of religious expression within WA. There was a bit of controversy some time in January (I wasn’t involved), and I had to respond: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pastortae/blog/posting-religious-blogs-one-pastors-take

Thank you so much

Amazing what you did in three months. A mulluon thanks for sharing!

Thanks
Hope it helps

Pastor Tae, you have accomplished a great deal in a short period of time and I know that it is the Lord who gives us the ability to obtain wealth, success or for that matter, anything good. You do your thing and don't let anyone discourage your success. You know the Lord and He is the only one you have to please. Be blessed abundantly.

I appreciate that very much

Hi pastor Tae thank you for sharing your journey with us, and thank you for helping me, in years to come you might look back and see that coming to W.A had a duel purpose, i will keep you in my prayers that everything will run smooth for you

Thanks Jan

Thanks PastorTae for sharing your journey with such honesty and transparency. I was really blessed by your blog post. :-)

Thank you. I'm glad...

Brilliant! What an amazin journey.
Wishing you continued success.

Thanks, Debbi. It's been very significant and meaningful. I am hopeful for the future

Hey - thanks for the detailed overview! You're making some great progress so far - keep up the good work!

Thanks, I appreciate that

Unbelievable Pastor Tae. I guess I figured you had been around WA for a couple years and I was impressed. NOW, I am beyond impressed.

Guess you have two callings. One is being a pastor and the second is being a website designer. Like I said. Unbelievable.

no, Larry....it's not like that....I'm just plugging away and hoping for the bigger vision to be realized at the end of the year. But thanks for the kind words

I'm impressed pastor ty thanks for sharing that. Very interesting. I did read a lot. Not all. J

Thank you

Wow PastorTae - You've done so much in 3 months and from reading all of the above its seems allot of struggles were overcome and friends thoughts of you weaker however not forgotten.

Your thoughts of adsense to drive a flow of income was a brilliant idea from whats been read by me on the topic

Find myself wondering how people think a Pastor is to live on donations alone from their church members, deacons etc,(mother is a deacon and our pastor has 3 kids living on 38,000 year and all in college)
You need to have another flow of income, also how does one know that this income is not helping those in need of your services.

Lastly on this point how can anyone tell you this is not a sign from god to help people, teach people what you've learned yourself first hand, be able to connect with the new generation as people older then us are way out of touch from what the kids of today are for this i stand and applaud you. (Cannot find to many website building, traffic driving Pastors, Sir!

After all you are a Pastor and your duty is to the lord above and one of which i think you excel in even have never met you! In every walk of life we have people that rather then understand someone just hate or ridicule such as myself have experienced this more often then not.

Thanks for your update and will be looking forward to hearing much more from you soon.

Cheers
Wade

I really appreciate that, Wade. It has been a challenge, especially from old school minded Christians. And yes, there is a bigger plan and vision that does involve helping others and the church and the community and is far more than just lining my pocket with the profits. There is a higher calling here than is far beyond personal gain. I'm surprised you read it through. Thanks.
