Promoting Intangibles, part 1
Part 1 of an ongoing series:
Formerly called "Funding Your Work"
Hey WA friends
I'm glad that we are walking this path together. But along the way, I have found that some of the steps I take are uniquely mine. And that's nothing new since we are all encouraged to find our own niche.
And so, I have found that there are many things unique to my journey as I am promoting more spiritual products such as teachings and services (such as consulting, counseling, and networking).
This creates a different kind of mindset since visitors are not coming to my 5 sites looking to buy something like a microwave or Kyle's blender!
They are not coming to my sites with credit card in hand. They are coming to read, learn, and be edified. And so, it's hard for me in a different kind of way to generate income.
Now, I still employ the same strategies of affiliate marketing and have links to Amazon and others. But my success has come mostly through donations from people who have seen my work and want to encourage it to grow.
I'm not sure how this blog would benefit those who are selling tangible products. If it does, then please let me know. And big blessings to all who are doing that kind of work at WA. But for me and others in the quality of life niche, my hope is that donors will support what I do.
So, here's what I am doing. And if you are doing something similar, please post your response and advice so that we can help each other in a way that makes WA so great.
I am using several donation generating methods.
1. I use the plugin, TinyCoffee, which is a fun and humorous way to ask people to "buy me a cup of coffee". I wrote a separate blog about that.

2. I use the classic PayPal donation plugin which I will use for my services, for example, if someone wants private counseling, they click this. I have generated thousands of dollars over the years with this. And what's great about this is that I don't have chase people down and ask them to pay for the services. It's a simple and straightforward policy of paying for the service first and then meeting them. I will write about this more later.

UPDATE:
In the post, I didn't emphasize the importance of personal and organizational donations that can come via paypal and even personal checks.
And it's been several weeks since I originally posted this, and now I am seeing some positive results as individuals are making donations and some are setting it as a recurring (monthly) donation.
I will write about this more in part 5 (forthcoming)

It may be useful to see if other online christian organisations have affiliate programs you can join. While donations may be the main way, there must be other ways of funding. I look forward to seeing other solutions from replies.
Well the way you are going about your sites, it's almost like operating a "non-profit" that offers valuable resources to those in need of them, so I think having ways to accept donations and fundings for your programs is just the the ticket.
My websites deal with our internet business and making our lives more resilient personally and financially. I also post a lot about our global environment. What is happening climate wise scares me. All of this is more advocacy that creating income. Iʻm going to look at GoFundMe as a tool for encouraging donations. Thanks
Love that line 'the quality of life niche'
May God continue to bless you bountifully

Thank you Pastor Tae for sharing, this is certainly something I might use in the future.
