My TWO Months Update
SHARE, LEARN, NETWORK
Hey writing friends,
I woke up this morning and realized that it’s been exactly 2 months since I started writing online through Wealthy Affiliate. Sure, I've been writing for over 30 years as a pastor and teacher. But online writing is a completely different genre. And that's what I'm learning to do through Wealthy Affiliate. I go to that site everyday to learn and create.
And now, it's time to post another update. And I'm doing this for two reasons. First, I want to encourage you to write and not http://mywritingministry.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/writing-ministry-7-writing-on-plane-300x222.jpg">quit. I can't tell you how many times I have started and stopped. But this time is different. I know, everybody says that. But this time it's different! And maybe you will relate to what I am writing. And second, I want to document this journey for myself so that I can see it is a long journey with important steps that need to appreciated. It's sort of like counting my blessings. This journey will be filled with many blessings big and small. And as a Christian, I should give thanks to God for this continual blessings on my writing ministry.
So, here's a quick overview of the methodical steps I took to get to this point and the lessons I learned along the way. It will include a bare-bones overview of the previous update which you can access yourself for more details.

SECOND MONTH OVERVIEW: 12/5/2014 to 1/5/2015
Put my head down and worked: During the first month, I just put my head down and worked and occasionally stopped to ask a question or fix a problem or mow the lawn. But in the second month, I came to my senses and realized the importance of becoming part of the WA and start engaging the people who are walking along next to me and offering assistance however I could. And this has been a huge part of my growing awareness and learning. My WA rank started somewhere over 13,000 and slowly dropped in the first month. But in the second month, I have seen a significant drop in ranking. It doesn’t make me special nor an expert. But it’s a confirmation that I am engaging the community and helping others.
Thank you: I started this journey for my own reasons. But, there have been some very special people who have come alongside and helped me. They really went the extra mile. And for that, I am truly grateful. Thank you.
A lot of Little Things: This second month was a time of doing a lot of little things. Some things were very important like http://mywritingministry.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/remove-rocketab-300x170.jpg">setting up security features, affiliate links, website data backup to Drop Box, broken link checkers, social media links, fixing malware infiltration, creating logos, and learning about the use of images. And other things were more for fun such as setting up favicon, live chat features, blogging encouraging words, adjusting colors, developing a mobile app, and playing around with gravatars.
But most of all: The second month was a time of intense writing. I do appreciate all the emphasis at Wealthy Affiliate on writing content. And so, that’s what I simply did. I wrote and wrote, and then took a break and then wrote some more. In fact, most of my writing, including this update, was written in the morning when all is quiet and I have the most energy and the least interruptions and distractions. Yes, I see my emails and notifications flashing right now, but I am not looking at them until I finish this!

Thank you so much for your post. It helped me to realize that I just need to stay patient, keeping working, keep learning, and keep passing it along.
What a wonderful post and what wonderful progress! I have no doubt that Great Blessings will be seen in 2015 as you continue to follow His lead! God's continued blessings to you, Christa
Congratulations for the great achievement during a short period of time.
I wish you more success.
Wow, this is truly inspirational. I have heard that it is during the third month that google starts to take you seriously, but if you already have page 1 rankings then you have obviously chosen a great topic. I wish you all the best in the future. Glyn
It's not that I have figured out the almighty Google. All 4 of my website are treated differently. And so, Google and I are just dating and trying to understand each other. Blessings to you.
You are right on track - whatever track it is that God has in store for you. Thanks for sharing your journey to this point. I'm amazed that you have already started a third website!
So many have experience so much more progress and success than me. As you described, we are all on separate tracks that God has set for us. Blessings on the path that you are walking
Tae, Thank you for your post. Something that I wonder about daily is if I'm working for me or if I'm really doing God's will by trying to create a website on the side. Supporting a family of three to be four is difficult on my salary and I just want to make a little on the side to have some spending money. I appreciate what your doing with you website in that you are trying to help people out there and I'm sure that many need the advice you have to give. I wish you the best of luck with you websites and keep us here at WA posted how things are going in three months too! Thanks.
Aaron
Thanks. We are walking alongside each other. I appreciate the kind words. I completely understand your situation. I was in your shoes for many years and now I am in more difficult shoes for a harder journey. But if it were not for this transition, I would not have found WA and this writing ministry for which I am grateful and hopeful. Let's keep in touch. Many blessings and wisdom in the new year.
