Burn Dude! Sweet Burn!

As I said in my https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/numerous/blog/houston-we-have-a-problem post, these posts are on a time delay because of the one post a day limit, but I thought this was funny, so I'm going to share it anyway.

A couple of days ago I was trying to get back to reference a comment I had posted on somebody else's blog. I haven't found a good way on WA to find the comments or stuff that you've previously posted yet, so if somebody knows of one feel free to share it with the class. In this case I knew the person was following me, so I went to check my followers. I hit the sort by rank button to make it easier to find them, and before I could find who I was looking for I noticed something really strange. Carson was my top ranked follower. That's strange. Where did Kyle go?

If you've ever tried to use the sort by follow date button you may have noticed it doesn't seem to actually work. I don't know what date they're using, but as far as I can tell that's not the order people actually followed me. So I thought maybe the same thing was happening with the sort by rank. I only had like 30 followers at the time, so I just scrolled down to see if he was there. And sure enough he wasn't. Kyle had unfollowed me!!!

OMG!! What the hell did I do??? I mean seriously. The guy follows like 190,000+ people. He is automatically added as a follower to every new person to join. Plus he runs the whole freaking place. How would he even have time to unfollow someone? I had to have majorly screwed up somewhere.

I was worried for about a minute and then I just decided it was hilarious. Burn. On. Me. If the guy who literally follows everyone unfollows you there's no other way to take it. That's a wicked burn. I mean it's a pretty loud message to say that out of all the noise of 190,000+ people you stood out enough to be unfollowed. Besides, I figured if I had really done something serious, I would have been scolded not just put on mute. So I had a good laugh and went on with my life.

But the story has a happy ending...

Kyle followed me again today! YAY!!! If getting unfollowed in the midst of all that noise is an EPIC Burn, than getting refollowed has to be just as epic right? Now I absolutely know without a doubt just how AWESOME I really am. :)

Ok that whole dramatic story I played out in my head aside, I'm sure it was just a software glitch, automatic refollow, or something mundane. But in my mind, I will always have the story of how I got burned by Kyle.

And so I give you The Burn Show:

Hi, great information. You should put a picture of youself on your profile page. Irv.

The faceless man has a sense of humor. Burn!

LOL I may have to add a smile to my profile pic so people don't think I'm just blankly staring at them.

Our minds can create amazing negative and positive situations. Great post.

Thank you and very true. I'm constantly having to slap mine around to keep the negative ones at bay. :)

Some of the follow path is burned out. Got Unable to reach this page when trying to access!

Do you mean the first link? It's the "Houston we have a problem" post to the right. I may have pasted the link wrong. I'll take a look. Thanks for the heads up.

If you want to find something you posted or visited recently try mousing over the My History tab to see if it is still listed there.

If you want to bookmark something, click on the white star symbol at the top of the content. The star will turn yellow and you will need to add a tag. That will give you a bookmark list..

Welcome to our community! ~Jude

Thanks Jude. So how do I find those bookmarks later? Do I have to remember the tags I used and search for them?

Click on the white star at the top right of the search bar at any time. It will turn yellow and a drop down list will appear with the yellow starred bookmarks. You can select the one you want from there. :-)

See Carson's post: A slight downside is that when the list gets too long, it is difficult to see the items listed at the bottom of the screen (at least on my Windows/Firefox computer).

If that happens you might have to close a few open windows or narrow the screen size to mobile mode which enables the scroll bar to continue.

Another option is to use a free app called Pocket. A feature "view pocket list' is part of Firefox 38+.

Jude!!!! Thank you. I was starting to think that bookmarking feature was completely ridiculous. Of course everything looks that way when you don't know how to use. I will put it to good use.

Nice work and the mind does wonderful things.

LOL yeah it tends to keep me on my toes. It's literally a force unto itself sometimes.

Isn't it amazing what stories our mind is immediately creating when something hits our eyes which seems strange or unpleasant! We are very creative in inventing stories - and for some purposes this is really a good capacity!

Yeah, I try to force myself to do that Jedi mind trick in the middle of the post of reframing things into something amusing or useful. Like you said I mind is really good a making up stories. It's just a matter of controlling the stories so they don't make us neurotic. :)

Thanks for the reply.

I spoke to Kyle recently-It was no glitch!...Burn! :)

ROFLMAO...Boomerang Burn. I should have expected someone to come back with something like that, and still never saw it coming. Hat tip to you sir.

Well said, Rick :) Lol.

Glad to be of service, Cory-All in good fun, of course. :)

I made a comment elsewhere that online you can't tell if LOL means they're laughing with you or at you. :) I choose to always assume it's the first especially if my original post was tongue in cheek. Plus I can always use a good laugh, so I'm glad you took the time.

I like to have fun-Your post and the 70's Show vid were great! :)

Will you be loading a profile picture of you, so we can put a name to a face?
It helps with identifying who we are chatting with and I think helps in many ways to trust our members.
Cheers and thanks, Tosh :)

Nice one, Tosh. :) I cannot comment on the post though I have clicked on the green 'like' button.

LOL you know honestly, I've gotten so many comments on the one I have that have turned into some really great conversations, that I'm kind of growing even more partial to it. And I think I'd rather people be skeptical of me, whether it be because of the picture or otherwise. If what I'm saying has merit it has merit. If not than it doesn't. Our unconscious reactions play too much of a role in the decisions we make as it is. If my picture means people never take anything I say for granted and always question what I say, I think both I and they will be better off for it. Thanks for your thoughts though.

I'm saving this post, so I read it later tonight and possibly, comment :)

Whatever floats your boat dude ;)
I wish you all the best, cheers, Tosh.

Thanks Tosh. I appreciate that, and all the best to you as well.

Read the post - no comment :)

I clicked on cosmicradio's like button though ;)
