Please, correct me if I am wrong. But did Google not just remove that importance in their last upgrade? I mean backlinking and social linking used to be very important, but I thought their new algorithms require heavily on how many people are actually clicking on your link via google search directly. Perhaps Kyle or Carson could weigh in on this question if they are not too busy? And if I am wrong that would be great because I would def cross promote on google+, facebook, and other forums across the net.
Social signals are still the top ranking factor for Google and +1s are the top ranking factor.

I follow 2322 people...and write comments on their sites and social media sites...I think I should add my own social profiles where I added my site below my profile here at WA...sound good as well.
Have SEO with Google+ in there, pinterest I haven't added, still haven't figured out where to find my ID for them. Bing is added and of course Google webmaster. Have several social ping sites listed in there as well, also do some manually...working on it anyways. :))

On Pinterest I think it is your URL when you log in when I get my computers and internet rebooked up I will check it out. I had to unhook everything due to floors being done.
