Own your life ! OWN IT!

I have to publish this blog post for a few reasons ! The first one is a few people I have seen that have gotten a little frustrated , And the second is the people I have seen that have left Wealthy Affiliate never having even begun due to listening to people who want to be negative and shoot down their dreams and ambitions!

You need a philosophy!

As cliche as it may sound you need a philosophy that you stand on in everything you do! I have what I refer to as my bedrock philosophies. That is simply comprised of the philosophies I live my life on. The way I view my faith, morals, and the way I want to be remembered! Those are in bed rock! No matter how much you want to discuss it, they will never change. You may have different philosophies than I do. That doesn't make yours wrong and mine right! Just different!

Then there is a philosophy that weaves its self into the fabric of my being, concerning the rest of my life. One is another unchangeable way I vew my world and the world around me. Such as the way I treat other people.

I view everyone as equal and special creations. Regardless of Race, creed, color, religion or any other aspect of our differences people are to be viewed with respect and handled in a way that stays true to the Golden Rule or "Treat people the way you want to be treated"! There are no compromises within that aspect of philosophy either! I am proud that my 2 children who are young adults have adopted the same, although they were left to make their own decisions.

I am not running for mayor, or trying to win fans with that statement. I was raised that way and its who I am.

The third philosophy is the one that entails growth as a person, in understanding, learning, and gleaning from other people. That philosophy grows and changes as I think it should.

So why do I tell you this?

I tell you this because there are influences within everyone's life that are either positive or negative to the outcome of where you want to go in life ! That is why you need to establish your philosophies on life and what you want it to be for YOU!

There are always people within your family or groups of friends and acquaintances that will judge you and tear you down. They will be envious of the fact that you are trying to better yourself, and because they don't want to improve themselves they will attack what you are doing ! These people are toxic to your dreams !

I'm not saying divorce your wife because she isn't on board with what you are doing. You have to find a way to work things out. That is a given.

But to succumb to negative people and the destruction of your dreams is no way to live! It is difficult enough to do something different and be successful at it without unneeded negative influences!

We can do this !

I firmly believe that every man and woman alive has the ability to achieve greatness! We were not given life by our creator to be miserable or average! Greatness comes in many forms ! And its up to each of us to determine what that form is!

This program at Wealthy Affiliate is not some crazy pyramid scheme or get-rich-quick scheme. It is a proven process by which many thousands if not millions of people have used to create a better life for themselves and their families, and achieve success to varying degrees! If this process that is proven to work is learned and followed, it works ! Were not re-inventing the wheel here ! We are just new tires on those wheels !

You can do this, and regardless of friends or family, its your life! OWN IT! Be respectful and just ignore family that belittles your effort! To so called friends who tear you down....maybe they aren't the kinds of friends you need around after all!

That is my Philosophy, & here's where It went wrong!

All of that to get to the point and explain where I'm coming from.

A young lady who wanted to do something that was very special to her decided about a year ago that she would talk to her dad about it. She wanted to start a YouTube channel and through marketing affiliate links and learning other options make a career of it.

Her dad really didn't understand what she was so interested in YouTube for, and thought it was just a stupid idea concocted by a teenage girl to play with YouTube all day, and it would never be a "real job" and she needed to finish school and get a "real job". Out of respect for her dad she dropped it. She loves her dad and knows for a fact he loves her, so she was prepared to forget something she was excited about and really wanted support for from her dad. Real piece of work he is right !

That girl is my daughter Chelsea and I'm the dad who broke his own set of principles and philosophy, by not showing his daughter the support she needed ! After some time passed I really started to regret that failure on my part. It ate at me and still does to this day ! But then something happened that changed everything !

A second chance to redeem myself !

As the dad who told his children that they could do anything and become anything they want with preparation and hard work, I felt I had destroyed that faith my children had in my optimism and belief in them! It sucked to be blunt!

Then ironically my daughter asked me to watch a YouTube video with her. Go figure! She played this video where a young man was talking about teaching a college student how to create an online business in 30 minutes. My daughter asked what I thought. Well just to be honest, if she told me at that point she wanted to fly to Tibet to take basket weaving classes I would be headed to the computer to book air travel! I wasn't making the same mistake twice!

We both did the Blue Host thing and started a website and looked at each other because we both really had no idea what to do. She progressed further than I did with her tech savvy. But it floundered. Then a friend told me about this website where you could sign up for free to learn the same thing we just flopped at. I checked it out and got a free membership. Within a few days I had a website up and running and had a few posts on it. Now I was excited, because I finally got it! So I told her I had something I wanted her to look at! Her jaw dropped! The excitement returned for both of us !

How does the story end?

That is yet to be determined ! The sky is the limit!

But I am glad to tell you that my daughter and I are both premium members at Wealthy Affiliate and loving every minute of it!

I got a chance to redeem myself to someone who is more special to me than the next heartbeat in my chest! I still think back with regret on a moment of stupidity as a parent, but it worked out in the long run. And even better the real lesson was taught to a dad by his daughter!

Some people don't get the second chance . They give up on a dream and opportunity because they listen to negative people in their lives!

Don't let people tear you down or step on your dreams ! And even more important, don't be the person that steps on theirs ! It's your life ! Own Your Life Like A Boss !
