I can't seem to find how to add meta descriptions to my posts.. At the moment, my posts on my website have my first lines of content as a meta description.

First, make sure you have the All in One SEO plugin activated. Then, when you edit your Posts and Pages (at the bottom of the page), you should see a section title 'All in One SEO Pack'.
In that section, you'll see the "Description" field defaults to the first lines of your post/page. Just start typing the meta description you want and the default text will be replaced.
You'll also see in this section a "Title" field to change the meta title.
Note, if you have posts/pages being listed in Google, the updated meta information may take a few days (until the next time Google crawls your site) to be reflected in Google.

Yes, I've changed that but my issue is with how the post looks in my blog roll.
I will attach a screenshot as it might explain my problem better.
Basically, the short description in my blog roll is composed of the first few line of the content which does not look very appealing to a reader in my opinion .
It is below the typing area when you are in Edit Mode in WP, there is a box where you can type it in. But Google frequently ignores it.

There is an automatic process, but you can add your own and put the description you want to.But be careful because I did like this and I've got duplicate meta description in Search Console, I've corrected but it took a while to do it!In my blog you'll find(bellow) 4 links for some training with useful info! I would suggest you check out this video: How to Efficiently Architect and Write your Content It outlines how I architect content and write content in the most efficient way as possible. The one thing that I learned over the years is that with content and with your niche, you will gain more and more expertise as you move forward. :)
Type your niche into Google. Take notes from other websites.
Now, write your content, using your own words.
