I’m starting a new niche website for ‘digital photography’. It’s not an area in which I’m an expert but I have recently started down the path of l

I like "moments in the lens" .. It's catchy and you can really fashion a great logo from that name...........That's how you brand.

Thanks, that's a really good idea and it is (was) available... I'm now the owner of MomentsInTheLens.com.

Outstanding and congratulations! Blaze that trail!

Neither is that important when searching for a domain name nowadays.

Years ago exact domain names had more SEO power, not any more. If you can use one great, if not it's no big deal.

Nowadays it's best to think branding.

I did a few post about choosing a domain name, maybe it will give you other ideas.

Thank you, Leo!

Your blogs were very helpful and gave me a new perspective on domain naming.

With this new perspective, I've been brainstorming and I think I have a a domain name which follows the guidance of your posts and may work well with branding:

PhotographyRoundup.com

I had a few others that made it to my shortlist but I don't think they worked as well:

ShutterlyMoments.com
MomentsInTheLens.com
Photaculous.com

Thanks again!
Dave

I agree with Joanne Dave try to stay away from the hyphens people tend to forget them and will wind up on another site.
You might want to go to godaddy dot to register your domain but to check name ideas.
They offer alternative domain names if the one you suggest is taken

Thank you, Tim. Using GoDaddy has been helping me to brainstorm some ideas.

Hyphenated domain names are not recommended.
Your content and proper seo techniques in the end will serve you best.

Thanks, Joanne. I'll be sure to avoid the hyphens!
