What's the Value in Being a Wealthy Affiliate Ambassador?

It really comes down to personal choice, but there are benefits to being an Ambassador at Wealthy Affiliate.
First, it really doesn't take a lot of effort to become an Ambassador. Just being consistently active in some form on WA will get you there.
You need to be ranked in the Top 25 to be an Ambassador.
As of this writing I am Rank #18 and have been an Ambassador for Approx 672 days according to WA. I have been on again off again Ambassador over my 5+ years at WA. If I think my time on WA is interfering with my business, I will make the concerted effort not to be very active on WA.
For me, the first benefit is the reward in helping others. I get a lot of satisfaction from that.
Second, I learn a lot from interacting with others.
One major benefit for me is if a non member, sees our post on one of the search engines and then comes and joins WA through it, they will be my referral. A few of my Premium referrals came to me because of my WA blog posts.

Although you will see I only have 253 WA blog posts, the true number is 1000+ as some time ago I deleted most of my posts.
Just think, a few Premium referrals and that pays for your WA membership. My membership has been essentially free or close to it since I joined in March 2019.
Pretty hard to walk away when it costs me nothing. :-)
If I were actively promoting WA, it gives me more credibility with my referrals to see that I am an Ambassador and I am also very active in assisting them.
Kyle has alluded to upcoming changes to the Ambassador program and I am curious to see how that unfolds in the coming months.
I would suggest always focusing on your business(es) first and foremost. :-)

As you post this, I'm viewing this on a brand new interface with some massive Ambassadorship updates! I think that you're going to love the updates we are cooking up!
We've always been a pay-it-forward community and we will remain so in the future as it's at our very roots. Get help, learn, and then be able to pass on that information to others! I get a lot of satisfaction from helping others and seeing folks improve. Those that are WA Ambassadors play a role in so many people's journey's and it's amazing to see what we can all do when we work together :)

I couldn't agree more with you Mel, and thanks for the shout out. I especially like when you mention that your membership to WA is essentially free.
This is how it has been for me ever since Feb 2015. With my yearly membership to WA being $299.00 a year all I need is only 2 Premium monthly referrals.
Two Basic Premium referrals would be $47.00 per month, times 12 months gives me $564.00 per year. That more than covers my WA yearly subscription.
The same would be true for those now with a Premium Plus membership. Having just two active Premium Plus referrals would pay for your membership.
Like you said, it's pretty hard to walk away from WA when it costs you nothing to stay. I'm certainly not leaving for as long as I live. It is so worth it here at WA.
So for anyone reading these comments, please consider what Mel has said here and promote WA, even if it's part-time, and you will reap great rewards.
This is why you see so many OG's like Mel and I still members. It's basically free to be here and you don't have to be an Ambassador, but that is the cherry on top.
