Not sure why Cover Photo is not showing up once published.

Hi Everyone,

I always think to myself: "There is no box, There is no box" So I don't have to worry about thinking outside the box, because it doesn't exist for me.

My main business is publishing books/ebooks. Its got me to where I am today.

I'm not very active on my website and after some back and forth chat with MrDon1, I decided to try to use Hubs to write a book for me and I could also add content as well.

Long story short, I took my 7000 word credit that's about to expire and I created a 24 page & a 26 page book along with 2 ebooks and they have been published on KDP Amazon. All easily in a day.

Not bad at all.

So in a couple of days, when my word credit is refreshed, I will create more books/ebooks with Hubs along with the 2 books a day I am averaging reprinting public domain content.

I must say, sometimes I even impress myself. ;-)

So make sure you use up your word credit before it expires if you have the time.

Good morning Mel,

It sounds like you have been busy, which is great news.

How did you find the hub content, Mel? I used to hub the other day to write something, it was just awful. It was so blatantly AI, if I tried to change everything would have been much harder than starting from scratch!

I appreciate that it does depend on the subject you are writing, but the content that I received was just unusable!

Have a great day.

Roy

Yeah, I think it depends on the subject. I'll sometimes take that content and give it to a chat program to expand upon it.

Happy 2's Day!

Mel

I think so, too, Mel, or that's how it appears. I appreciate it makes a difference to which prompts that we use.

It's interesting that you are using a chat program to expand the content.

Have a great Wednesday.

Roy

Thanks Roy! You, too.

Mel

Wow! Ambitious, Mel.

I lost a few credits last month because I had been working on updated a couple of books from a few years back and didn't have a lot of time to use up the credits. But now I am using a mixture of Hubs and Chat GPT to create outlines for two sites every day. I am pretty sure I will use up my word credits! I might even have to buy some more!

Karin

Sounds great Karin!

Awesome Mel, that is quite impressive. The fact that you can write a 26 page book in a day really shows how things have changed and as we move forward with the Designer and Author platforms, you are going to see bulk writing tools for your website as well to further speed things up. :)

Thanks Kyle!

This is a great idea, something that I never thought of. Removing that box opens up all kinds of ideas. Thanks for sharing Mel. 🙂

You are most welcome Cynthia!

Hi - I would just like to thank you for all your previous posts about Amazon KDP and public domain content.

It sparked an idea, that we could write new fiction on characters from older novels.

I have now published 3 books on Amazon, and sold 5 copies in the first few days!

(The link to my author account is in my profile if you're curious!)

How old are these older novels? I am wondering if the author has a copywrite on those characters. In other words, can you legally take characters of someone else’s original work and then make a new story out of it? Just wondering, is that fine?

That is the whole point - to use characters that are now in the public domain, where the copyright has expired.

In other words, where the author died more than 70 years ago.

So, for example, I have written about Sherlock Holmes, as the author, Arthur Conan Doyle, died in 1930.

Amazon would reject the book if it wasn't acceptable.

What a great concept, writing new fiction on characters from older novels!

Now I'm intrigued!

Rudy

Diane,

That is the best compliment a person could ever give me by using my info to create something or better themselves. Absolutely brilliant! I am following you on Amazon. :-) Well done!
