Hi everyone,
I made a very interesting discovery today while researching public domain titles that sell on Amazon.
I apologize that I am not going to go into details just yet, but hopefully in the next 3 months I'll have good news to report.
One involves an old public domain title of mine that I have made a number changes to including adding a beautiful new cover to it. I'm expecting it could 100X its current income.
The 2nd title I just submitted the regular edition and a large print edition and it has the potential to do crazy income generation. I'm also going to submit a hardcover version.
If both titles do get picking up sales helping to confirm what I believe then I will for the first time start advertising on Amazon to drive more sales.
Fingers and toes crossed.
What a difference 12 hours make.
Last night, someone used my debit card and ran up charges and I spent several very frustrating hours trying to get assistance. Today, I did get a $100 credit back into my bank, but there is still a lot more to recover.
What a mix of emotions today. haha

Oh my God so sorry to hear about the theft on your account,
I really do know scams are becoming such a pest in society and we need to be cautious with everything we accept into our computers and mind.
Pictures are often imbedded with viruses too 😔

That’s so frustrating about the credit card!
We very seldom hand a credit card to anyone these days.
I’ll add my card info to a secure (encrypted) screen on a legitimate website or use a card with Apple Pay from my phone.
Otherwise, I’ll pay with cash.
We also freeze our cards when they are not in use.
I suspect that it might be more difficult to do some of these things in the Philippines.
Services like LifeLock can also help. 😎

Yes, I think Apple Pay and Google Pay are both secure options.

It was hacked online and since I see my Microsoft account was also hacked that could be the source. I have changed my password there. I only used MS for paying for my Skype.
Researching MS, I found they were hacked by both China and Russia this year. :-(

Yeah, most of the largest companies have been hacked, Mel.
Cloud data can be very vulnerable from a security and privacy standpoint.

Sorry about the debit card Mel. On another note, I hope you let us know what you learned about advertising on Amazon. I created posts on LinkedIn, FB, and my FB page about my book. So far all the traffic I have seen are from a few friends, relatives and colleagues.
I also added a CTA to several of my better-performing blog pages associated with the book to see if that helps.
On Twitter/X there is a big group of authors that tweet each others work. I know because quite a few follow me. Worth trying on there. The more of a following you have, the more you get seen.
