40,000 + Views . Whoop Whoop !
Just a quick post to share a milestone on my You Tube channel ... yesterday I hit 40,000 views !
Now I know that some people get more than that on just one video, but I like to celebrate any small win.
I don't really promote my videos that much but direct people to them when they are after an answer to something. But that, said a few videos have been ranked highly for long tail keywords and are getting views everyday. Plus I am getting traffic too ..Yeah!
So if you are thinking of using Youtube then I would say go for it.If used correctly then it can be a consistant flow of free traffic to your site.
Here's a few things that I am doing which may help you too.
Create a custom thumbnail, this can make your video stand out when in the search. You can create one using a site like Canva.
Use Jaaxy for searching your keywords and then double check on Youtube in their search bar and see what the competition is.
Use relevant tags and keywords in the description
Dont be worried about what people might say about you being on camera, just be yourself !
You can also use screen capture software like Camtastia or Screen flow (for MACS) but not needed to get started just use your mobile phone.
Feel free to head over and say hi on my channel the link is on my profile. I create videos about blogging, and marketing online.
I have a new video going up shortly so could do with some views ..only joking, maybe !

I've done both. I have subscribed to your channel as well and hit the bell button ( which didn't hurt too much)
Thanks for sharing, Martin! Congratulations. I've started several YT channels in the past, got some unexpected results also like unreal views from a video I just duplicated to check how long will it take Youtube to ban it ;-) but I've never been consistent about this.
It's good to follow you now, so I can see what you've done and check your progress.
I subscribed to your YT channel, and I watched a couple of minutes of your first video. Let me share some observations.
SEO: looks like you've been doing your homework.
Description: honestly too long. People don't read, especially if they are watching a video from their mobile. If the goal was SEO, maybe it works, but I can't tell.
Video: you look great, your voice is clear, but the duration, 20 minutes, I would split the video in 5, and create part 1, 2, 3, 4
Same title, description but you will get more views and inner links.
My two cents ;-)
Thanks for your tips Richard, I will be using Youtube a bit more in 2019 so will take on board your comments ..
I don't have any views or subscribers on YouTube, so I think this is fabulous!!!
I am not sure where to start on YouTube lol.

My niche is hemp based products and saving the planet. There are a lot of things I could do for sure, just not real sure how to go about building my YouTube channel.
I have a couple of the social media feilds that I am not real familiar with like Instagram, and especially Twiter! I am totally baffled by Twiter, it makes no sense to me whats so ever lol, so I post my articles and leave the platform.

There is certainly a lot for people to learn about these sorts of products. You could always voice over a powerpoint and even duplicate some of your blogs.
Having a presence on Instagram and twitter is good.... advantages of both of these platforms is you don't really need to be on there all the time. Although a go on Twitter most days I have most of my tweets automated.
As you grow you will discover more about where your target market are, then you can focus more on that platform.
Either way sounds like you have all bases covered.
