Can I host my single website that is currently being hosted here by Wealthy Affiliate on multiple servers?

Or, just one other server other than Wealthy Affiliate?

WA provides 30GB website space and 500K Visitors/Mth bandwidth. So if your site is larger and requires more bandwidth, then it should be hosted elsewhere.

Great question. Nice answers.

Hey Meherbani,

Should you be considering offering something that will be in high demand, you might want to check this option out that is being discussed here: https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/23437/how-to-host-a-single-website-on-multiple-servers

However, you won't find that option available from WA hosting.

Hope this helps you.

Hope this will help you.

Not sure I understand correctly?

You want to host one website on multiple hosting companies at the same time?
What would be the purpose of this?

It's not possible by the way.

I just watched Jay's last 2017 webinar and he suggested using AMP.
I installed the plugin and then added the AMP for WP plugin.

Looks like a great thing to have!

Hi Meherbani!

I have been trying to find training as well on using AMP. I found this video on youtube and so far it's helping me:
https://youtu.be/tMPGdLUCC_Q

Thanks!
Becca

great tutorial, thank you!

Before you commit to AMP, just be aware that it will actually install a completely new THEME for your WP site on mobile! That’s why I stopped using it. You may have to code, or hire someone, to customize the theme beyond what they give you, which is very sparse.

Obviously AMP has some serious advantages too, so you’ll have to weight the two and see if it’s appropriate for your website. Let me know if you have any more questions about this!

Oh, maybe they improved it since I last used it LOL

The AMP thing is regarding the Google listing, so you'll be running a stripped down version of your site that runs faster, and is labeled as AMP in Google. However, I'm not sure how it would differ, considering your site is supposed to run faster on AMP, but if you keep your theme as-is...where will the difference be?

I think the confusion lies in that there are several ways to implement AMP. The plugin you're using is just a way to make AMP implementation simple. It's not the only way to do AMP!

But I am also a little confused about the whole thing.

good, well at least it's not just me.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply!

I need to go into amp too as it seems brilliant.

It really is and I'm hoping we will have a walk through training on it. It does seem pretty self-explanatory but being a bit too cautious I'd love to have someone show me, thanks for your comment.

From Kyle.

This link, although it is a great one, has nothing to do with the new feature "AMP" thank you.

Hi everyone!

It's been awhile for me but I know there is training on someone's blog post someplace in this great community but I cannot find it.

Thanks for posting this link, appreciate it!!

Easiest way is to type this in your browser bar:

site:your complete URL, including the http://xyz.com/and-your-post-title (same string you fetched with)

site:http://factsaboutinternetmarketing.com/my-dot-com-business-a-recipe-for-financial-disaster

IF it shows it is indexed, if not, wait a day and try again. But since you did the 'fetchy' dingy it should be indexed within the hr. At least mine are.

I am making some changes to my site and would like to hide it from the public until it is finished.

How do I do that?

Essentially, it isn't required to hide your site, but if you really want to remove content from the site, you can unpublish content that you previously published.

When you go into the page or post you want to edit, you will find in the top right part of the editor the publishing options. There you can change it to draft again and update it.

There are some complicated ways of completely hiding a site or to put it into maintenance mode, but I wouldn't fiddle with that.

Ultimately you should concentrate on publishing content. Content will never get perfect, so just publish it and edit it and update it.

Steven

You are so right! I am spending way too much time on the aesthetics and not enough on content. thanks for the reminder!

you are most welcome. If you run into any other issues, feel free to reach out!

Steven/

Hey Meherbani,

The only way I know to hide your entire site is to set up a robots.txt file. What this does is tells search engines not to index your website. It is really just a guidance and search engines are not required to do this. If this is what you are looking for, you can do this in WordPress as follows (it creates a robots.txt file):
Settings->Reading
Then, at the bottom is a checkbox:
"Discourage search engines from indexing this site".
Some of the other suggestions here won't hide your site but can at least tell potential readers that you are in maintenance mode.

Unless you are making major changes that are going to take a long time, I would just go ahead and make your changes and not worry about hiding or telling people you are in maintenance mode, etc.

Best Regards,
Jim

Maybe I need to do this, too? I'm working on my site, revamping some older posts, but I'm doing this without hiding it. Thanks for asking the question:)
Blessings:)
Suzi

Can you work-in it as not published?

You can change its visibility to private until you are done.

Some use plugins to activate maintenance...
