About Bald Eagle
Joined November 2006
Born and raised in Rhodesia (now called Zimbabawe) before settling and working in Johannesburg, South Africa I eventually uplifted my family to settle in New Zealand - The Land of The Long White Cloud.

And it was here, during my struggles to continue with my career as a financial adviser, that I discovered Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson (their names always seem to appear in that order!) and Internet Affiliate Marketing - back in November 2006.

I was not one of WA's success stories. :( And subsequently gave up my membership in 2017.

Kyle and Carson recently reached out to former members and asked me if I wanted to give it another go - so here I am.

I have been out of the loop so long I don't know where to start.

I see a lot of members are promoting WA and I don't think I can do that with a clear conscience - so where to from here?

I truly admire those who are making in excess of $5000 per month through IM but I have no idea how they are doing it.

PPC was my most successful venture but then I got the infamous Google Slap and was banned for life because of something I had no control over.

So here I am, for a wee while anyway. Let's see if there is anything that will finally switch the light on.

I have decided to start from scratch - with the certification course.
Hence the new profile pic (do you like it? :) ) and the updated BIO.

See you at the bank ...

Hi Lawrence
Welcome back.
What seems to work best for us is to follow the Certification course (green box to the left) and to pause the video, then do what Kyle has done, then play another piece of the video, pause and do it.
I often fall into the trap of just watching the videos - yes, I learn A LOT, but that is not what is going to bring in the money, it is only the action that I take on what I learn. So I hope that this little trick will help you as well.
Feel free to ask if there is anything that I can maybe help you with.

Welcome back! I hope you find your niche and thrive in IM. I tend to learn more from my failures than I do from my successes. Have you ever moved your PPC skills over to other platforms? I know FB has paid advertising - just an idea. I see you made it past the first month because you just left me a very constructive review. I really appreciate you doing that - and if you ever need any help, just ask.

Thanks but I am not as optimistic as you about this.
I was previously a member from 2006 until earlier this year and after many attempts at just getting one niche to make me just $100.00 per day I decided to chuck it in.
Kyle and Carson have been on a drive to recruit former members and have offered a low first month.
Their e-mail promised to help - I will be calling them out on that - this time round otherwise I will be gone once the first month is up.
In this day and age making $100.00 should not be too difficult.
Oh and I am NOT in the "Make Money Online" niche.
Are Kyle and Carson losing members - is that why the drive to recruit oldies?
Cheers
Lawrence

FTurner8032 Premium
I have no idea about whether or not WA is losing members. That is not really something I need to concern myself about. I need to do all I can to make myself a little better at this every day.

For whatever it is worth, I am sorry that you have not had a good previous experience here. However, you know that there are many people that have made good money here and there is no reason that you cannot do that as well.

I have not reached the goals I have set for myself, but I am striving to do that and I will NEVER give up trying. The only sure way to fail is to quit.

Good Luck Lawrence, I hope you find the success you are looking for. God Bless.

Hi Lawrence

This came to my attention:
> Are Kyle and Carson losing members - is that why
> they drive to recruit oldies?
They are marketers who practice what they preach and they lead by example. Marketing 101 teaches (when I used to study) that it is only good practice to reach out to previous customers / members, for whichever reasons they may be only ready to utilize the opportunity that you have to offer, the second time around.

WA is constantly improved, so it just make sense to give previous members an opportunity to come back - just maybe those members are now in a better frame of mind than previously, and maybe something that is new on the training explains something better that would make the penny drop for them.

So In my books, that would explain why they would have send an email out to all previous members.

Hope it helps to shed a different light on it.

Hi Lawrence... Thanx for the follow.

I see that you have been with WA for a long while. I have a question for you... I noticed in one of your comments below that you said that you don't use WA's website builder, nor do you have any websites listed here. Is there a reason why you're not using their services? I'm asking because I just want to make the best choice for web building.

have a great day : )
Reply
Bald Eagle Premium
Oopsssidaisy is a phrase I haven't heard for years! My dad used to say it all the time.

You are observant and yes there is a reason for not using siterubix.

When I first started I used NVU (pronounced NView) to build my website and the website builder here only came in later.

The learning curve on NVU was so steep for me that there was no ways I was going to learn another system. It wasn't WordPress in those days and believe me I found it tough.

Pretty much the same reason with hosting.

By the time WA introduced free hosting I already had a number of sites hosted by HostGator and feared that I would lose them all by moving them.

It only costs me $9.00 per month for as many sites as I want. Moving them would cause me stress. $9.00 is cheaper than stress!

There is one other benefit that makes me feel comfortable and that is I am not totally reliant onWA for everything - silly I know but there you go.

Hope that helps
Reply
oopsssidaisy Premium
Hi Lawrence... Thank you for the follow up on my question.

I understand the stress factor. I closed down my personal portfolio website to rebuild it here and I'm a lil concerned about the loss of time, ranking, and validity of my site during this transition. After the re-build I'm still a bit undecided on whether I should host it here or on Host Gator.

I've been known to leave my mark on tartwork I create for folks by intentionally putting some simple faux pas into their design. Sometimes it's noticed and sometimes it's not and sometimes happy lil accidents happen that seems to enhance a design... hense the nic name oopsssidaisy.

have a great day : )

Thanks for the follow Bald Eagle. I live in South Africa but would not swap for anywhere else for all the money in China.

I use to live in Johannesburg for 22 years. Was born and raised in Rhodesia.
You may need to rethink because there is a lot of money in China. :)
All the best
