It is currently snowing, but, in Portland, we almost always have rain.

I have been with WA since may and am getting 2 websites up and going. Since I am following the plan here and NOT resorting to paid advertising while depending on organic SEO, I have not had any sales 2 sign-ups and a lot of visits. Just working to get established.

Marta, as soon as there is enough for you to like where they are going, publish them!

The main post and a few pages would be a good place to start, as long as visitors can understand what is going on. Google (Bing, Yahoo and Firefox...et al) want to see authority. They do not require a specific amount, however, after you put out a basic couple of posts/pages, get it finished as quickly as possible.

Getting something out there will get the search engines looking and you may actually get indexed!

From then, just work on it as often as possible!

That's what I said; have your main post (front page) and a couple of the pages (about me, privacy and maybe a little about whatever it is you are promoting) Yes, go to 'posts' and create a new one and write up.

Yeah, you do NOT want to publish your website without a front page!

I like your theme choice, right now it is just a matter of building out more content.

I recommend that you use more visuals within your content. Most people are visual by nature and when you create content, you should have associated images that reflect what you are talking about.

This will lead to more engagement, a higher reader rate, and as a result, more conversions.

There are many ways in which you can find and add images to your website. I have outlined this within a video walk-through that I created on images. How to Find & Add Images to Your Website This is very thorough and will give you a lot of great ideas as to how you can find and incorporate images on your website. Also, do know that if you are an affiliate of Amazon you can use any of the images (product) from their website on your website, which opens you up to an image bank of MILLIONS of images.

There are also other CC0 sites out there that you can leverage. These are free public domain images to use how you wish.

I read your article and I have a couple of improvements that I think you can made. Remember I'm new to this too.


First, add some images to highlight what you are talking about in your article. I would then add headers to the paragraphs to make the article read much easier.

I would then create new paragraphs about each of the opportunities like selling e-books, or an online traveling agent.

That's what I do for starters, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

The headers are a great idea, I didn't like the way that it looked. Now when you talk about headers, do you mean some space above it or are you talking about something with some color, something eye catching maybe?

Both, space and headers like H1 (big) for intruduction and H2 (sub heading)

Don't focus too much on PERFECTION...if you do, you probably won't get as much done.

I have two niches that I would like to concentrate on. I would like to promote Wealthy Affiliates and Weight Loss for Women Over 50. I don't plan on doing both at the same time though. At least not right at first.
What do you think?

Focus on just ONE website and create success with that before diversifying and creating multiple niche websites.

It only takes ONE website in one niche to be very successful online. I usually find that folks that try to do too much at once (focus on several niche websites) end up in a state of mediocrity because it can be overwhelming and you don't really ever become the expert in just one niche.

It is the experts (specialists) that create long term, successful businesses in any niche.

Oh I planned on only doing one it was just making a choice. I figured that if somewhere down the line if I know more about I am doing, maybe then I will try another one.
I decided to promote Wealthy Affiliates. I have been very impressed with WA since I was accepted into your community.
Everyone has been so nice and so willing to help when you get stuck and I am finding it easier to learn. And I think that it makes a difference having all of you guys behind me because I want to do a good job and impress you all. I want to be able to hear, "good job" and really feel like I deserve it.
So now that I told you all of that, can you push me into the right direction on facts about WA so that I know what I can put into my content? PLEASE
Or do you think that I picked the wrong niche being so new to the community?
I don't want to endorse anyone else's systems that I have tried or I never would have come aboard with you guys. I would have been satisfied with where I was and already generating an income.

You can head in any direction you like, I always recommend choosing a niche that you are interested in/passionate about when you do choose a niche.

You can always be involved in many different ones down the road, you just need a starting point. If you ever do need a hand with anything at all as you do move forward, just let me know. :)

Do the blog post just show up for WA's eye only at first.

The world/internet can see your posts, but you will only start to get ranked an indexed in Google as time goes on.

Not every page or post you write will rank and definitely with a new website, not everything will get indexed and rank right away.

Typically around the 3 month mark is when you will start to experience a big breakthrough in terms of search engine penetration Marta. Posts that you have done up to that point will start to rank, move up the search results, and you will start to strike the 1st page of Google with lots of your content.

Don't panic here and don't fixate too much on rankings at this point in the game, they will happen. :)
