I am Marita Ackerman and it seems I’m always ready for a challenge and change. That may explain my adventurous move from South Africa to the UK at the young age of 48.

During my 14 years in the UK, I have taught in a variety of schools and although very challenging at times, it changed and enriched my perspective and understanding of many aspects of life. My most rewarding and lifechanging role was 12 months at a specialist school for children with profound complex needs. I have learned to appreciate life and health and to grab opportunities with both hands.

As my husband has now retired, we recently moved to beautiful Cumbria. I love the serenity and breathtaking scenery, but since we are rather remote, I have soon realised daily commuting on the Lake District’s narrow and winding roads might be a challenge too far, especially in the dark. So here I am, facing my next challenge: to start my own online business.

I'm right there with you. I need lots of support too and I sometimes forget to reach out for it. I'll be stuck on something for a couple of days before I think to just ask someone. It wastes time, so I am trying to be a little more diligent about moving ahead and not being so timid.

Best of success to you!

Me too! I was so web illiterate when I started last March. Then I took the summer off, and now I’ll m trying to get back on track.
A word of advice- don’t get too hung up on the WA ranking, worry more about your site ranking.
It’s easy to spend hours on the WA bells and whistles but the goal is to get through the training and the tasks and build an awesome website.
