Maybe you some of you know what possibly happened. My post was ranking at 5th page of Google for quite a while and yesterday it just disappeared from Goog

Hi Marius, I've had quite a few posts disappear from Google. I don't think there is any explanation other than maybe the Google update and algorithms are doing this to us affiliate marketers.

Let's see if anyone else can explain in more details.

Cal

Hi Cal, yeah I was thinking the same thing. Google certainly makes our lives harder.

Sometimes it's great and sometimes not so great. We just have to keep pushing forward and forget about the negatives.

I agree Cal

Hi guys, I just want to ask how to save any CSS changes I've done to my website before updating my theme or WordPress to a newer version? Because I've read somewhere that I wil

Thank you Guys, I've managed to create a child theme. And successfully updated my WordPress!

Best Regards,

Happy to help if indeed I have.
Enjoy your Wednesday.
Robert

Personally, I just do all my custom CSS changes in one place, under Customize > Additional CSS. That way, it's very easy for me to back up my code or just copy-paste it again if it's overwritten by a new theme update.

A Child Theme is your answer

if you have changed any of your themes files you will lose all of these changes when updating your theme.
to prevent this you can make a child theme - from the main theme and add your changes to that, this way your changes are not removed.
if it is css added to the custom css part of your theme then i think that is preserved- test it on a test site first.
good luck
phil

I've done changes both to my theme and to my CSS file.
I heard that I have to create the child theme, but I don't know how to do it?
Or how to test it on the test site?

Thank you!

even creating a child theme you may lose your current changes- so make sure that you know what they are.
i know there are plugins, but some require php above what we have here, so check out this method
https://www.hostinger.co.uk/tutorials/how-to-create-wordpress-child-theme
it gives you control over creating your child theme.
i tend to use file manager plugin rather than ftp access- you work in the wordpress environment.
try it out on a test site first ( setup a siterubix site or a subdomain to your domain)
have fun
phil

Hello WA familly, I was just wondering about something today. If I make changes to my ranked blog post (as example add youtube vides) do i need to request Google to index my bl

Thank you for asking this question, because I was wondering the very same thing this morning! and now I have an answer (or many lol). All the best.

Happy that my question could help find answers for other WA members too! 😉

Thank you guys for your help and advice!

Most welcome Mario enjoy the rest of the week ahead.

Andre

You too Andre!

Thanks I am already.

Yes regardless if they are changes to old, new and even YouTube.
It will also help speed up indexing rather than waiting for the bots to visit.

Don't forget not just to Google but also Bing Webmaster as well.

I don't think there's any harm in resubmitting.
Blessings
Louise

No, just leave it - search engine bots will visit your site again & update your post accordingly :)

Yes, submit it to Google and Bing again.

So just want to ask more experienced members. Google says that my posts are indexed, but by typing my keyword into search engine I can't find my post in any of the search resul

Thank you for your help guys, because I was starting to panic a bit and thought maybe I'm doing something wrong!

It takes time to get high rankings so it is completely normal not being able to find yourself on Google in the beginning.

Just keep going with the training and with writing great content than the high rankings will come.

I couldn't find them in the beginning either. The more I got closer the first page, the more they began to pop up.

That's completely normal. Your site is pretty new and your posts will rank higher as time passes, don't worry just continue to write.

Why I can't find my posts trough the search engine?
