I'm really on the fence about whether I should link to an actual book, or the kindle version of it. I'm looking for opinions on this, which would you prefer as a buyer??

g

Thanks guys, hearing this from you helped me immensely. Much appreciated:)

I would definitely say the actual book.
If people want a kindle version a link is also displayed on the same page if it exists. Kindle users are aware of this

If you link to a kindle version people without a kindle might get put off as there are many kindle only books although Amazon will display details if other formats are available.

If someone visits Amazon through your affiliate link then the Amazon cookie will be valid for 24 hours so you will get accredited for the sale which ever the buyer chooses in the end.

It depends on the genre. I'm old school, so for entertainment, I still prefer hard cover - while I can still get them! I like to hold the book in my hands.

For information and learning, I don't mind Kindle.

Are the books you are selling available on Amazon Kindle's matchbox service? That might be an option if they enable Associate's to link to that service. More info here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/digital/ep-landing-page

Mind you, this forces the customer to buy both versions.

Looking ahead, paper books are dying. And who wants to bother with shipping? I guess I'll have to learn to love holding an e-reader. ~Jude

Personal preference but I prefer the actual book. :)

Not really sure how to go about this. Do I have a main review page and just put links to my review posts in it? Or categorize them(which I'm not too sure I know how to do prope

Well guys I jumped the gun on this entirely. What I was looking for was covered in the next lesson. Thanks to everyone who chimed in with their help, it's very much appreciated!

The easiest way is when you are actually creating a post. In the right sidebar you can select a category or create a new category for the post. I believe if you open previous posts and go to quick edit you can also change it there on existing posts.

So if I put the category name the same name as the page it's going to go into, it just auto goes to that page? Or is there other settings I have to mess around with?

Categories and pages are two different things. Categories are not added to any menu for navigation. They are a way of organizing your posts by subject so that viewers can locate what they would like to read easier. See the screen shot that I have attached showing where on a post edit page that you can select a category for the current post or create a new category.

I can give advice based on my site. : ) I am reevaluating my layout after looking at this : ) Here's how I set it up. I made my WA review my static page. I have a menu bar with drop downs. So I don't really have a blog roll. I have separate posts on my side menu. When I click
the static page off, my blog roll kicks in. I didn't like that because I liked my site opening up right to a home page and not my blog roll. I need to experiment with it more with layout.
Does this make sense?

What I do is treat my reviews as a normal post, but I put them in a Reviews category. So they show up in the blog roll, but you can get to them by searching category as well

I"m not really sure how to properly go about this, is there good training on it?

Im not too far along but somewhere before lesson 2 in bootcamp Kyle mentions funneling people back to the main WA review page instead of linking them directly to WA to sign up. If you are writing a post or page and mention WA, create a link, in a natural spot, back to your review page.
This is how I've been doing it since. If this is what you mean...I hope that helps.
Rob

I have been doing that, but I have other reviews that need to be on a certain page called reviews, but I can't put multiple posts on any other page than my blog roll. I have a review page set up in my menu, but how do I go about adding my reviews to that specific page so that my readers can navigate my site easily, rather than having to scroll through all of my posts on the main page to find the review they are looking for. Hope that made sense!

No you should link your review post back to your main review page just as long as they pertain to the page.

That's kind of what I meant I think. The visitor clicks on my review page in the main menu and they would go to a page that has a number of links, all pertaining to the separate reviews they can read.

Sorry I misundderdtood uour question here is a video that should be able to help you out.

Thank you! Going to go attempt to do this right now!

Hmmm my theme only supports one menu, does this mean I can't go this route without changing my theme?

So I searched through jaaxy for my site rank, and one of mine is listed on page one of google? Is this real? Am I dreaming? Lol someone bring me back down to earth please!

Yes if you found it on Jaaxy then it is on page one for that given keyword. Many people actually don't know that they are ranking high for some keywords because they are checking with other keywords instead.

I do not have Jaaxy so do not know how it works. But to get realistic picture you can also search incognito from your browser. For this see up-right-corner tab with 3 bars (in Mozilla and Chrome). Then choose "new private window". Jovo

I kind of get how to add categories to my site, but say I am doing a review, I create it as a post, and then put it under the review category? Does it have to stay on the main b

You can go to the Appearance->Widgets and add a Blog Category Widget to your webpage in the sidebar and every time you post a blog, you can select what category from the menu on the right side of Word Press here you want it to be in or even create a new category. Then you could create a webpage and put that same content in a webpage and call it whatever like _____ Review. Then include a link in your menu to _____Review, then someone can look at that particular product review also. I think that's what you were asking. So people can see your blog post and it be a permanent menu item. Hope this helps.

I'm still not really understanding, sorry. I have a review category now, I removed the page with the same name, created a review and categorized it under reviews, but it still shows up on my main post page. Is it something I have the option of just not showing on the main blog posts(my home page)? Or is a review something I want to have show up there, and then people can go look for other reviews under that category? Hope what I said made sense, thank you so much for trying to help me!

I kinda sort of follow you. If you go to "Settings" in the DashBoard and then "Readings" and select the "Latest Post" Option. It will always show your latest post on your main page, regardless of how you categorize it.

If somone comes to your site and want to select "Reviews" in your Category's section then it will only display all the post that you have put in the Review section. But this is their choice.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your post
