Please use content relevant titles for your Wealthy Affiliate blog posts
Hello all,
I would like to make a kind request about blogging on Wealthy Affiliate.
You see on the top of every page there is a search area where we can search for relevant subjects that helps new and old members find what they/we are looking for.
I understand the concept of raising curiosity and "make" people click on a title so get more readers, likes, comments, and WA ratings but do they really serve the original reason?
I mean titles like "Wow, look at this!", or "You won't believe this", or "Check this out", "This is awesome!" (by the way those are made up examples) might get attention, but they are spammy. That is how spammers send emails out to make people click on the email. It's low game-play in my opinion.
And if that is not enough, please remember that using such "Click Bait" titles are against this website's regulations. Read #21 here:

Titles should relate to the content of the blog post. It's not just helpful for the rest of us to find things we need, but it is also better for Wealthy Affiliate all together in Search Engine results.
Please kindly consider that.
Thank you!

You can now "Hide Content Like This" by clicking on the small gear icon at the top of a post, where "Report Spam" is located. This will block that user from your Activity view. If enough members do it, they'll also lose their rankings. ;)
Thank you Rich although I sometimes use them they only works if other people are also aware of those options.
I believe there will be a formal announcement next week, once the reranking update is complete!! ;)
We seem to be in the season of click bate titles, hopefully, it will run its cycle and abate. I guess for some folks the WA community is their target audience,
Well it's human nature to attempt to cheat the system, but I like rules and hopefully this post will send a reminder.
WA community is very powerful audience by the way, but I don't care about anyone's ratings I just want good stuff here for what this website was built.
Very interested.. Thanks for sharing. By the way, I am curious - where did you find your signature with the magic hat?
It's a gif. I don't remember. One of the members posted a website for gifs a while back but the internet is loaded with them. :)
You are quite right Magus, blogs with titles like e.g. "Wow, look at this" will not pop-up in a search for info, while a title like e.g. "Best Text editor for WordPress ever" will lead people to the right place.
Yes not to mention it's kinda waste of time for the rest of us. Clicking to find out what the blog post is about and realise that it's not something we care or need.
Actually the main reason I posted this is because NOT only new members do that. In fact some "Ambassadors" tend to do that too, for as I am guessing, to maintain high member rating. I am not here to point fingers I am just trying to help this website more effective and helpful for everyone :)
That would be a stupid thing to do because the WA blog is Google indexed and the title can attract new referrals. And I doubt that OMG, look at this... will attract anyone from outside WA
I agree with every word you just said. So hopefully this blog post will help members stay on the right track :)
