Can You Use Images From Amazon on Your Site?
Are you allowed to use images from Amazon?
Hi Folks,
In this video, I am going to reveal the answer and tell you if you are allowed to use images from Amazon.
Over the years, there has been confusion as to whether you are allowed to use the product image directly from Amazon without using any sort of API.
Well the answer is YES.. you can use images from Amazon product listings! I will show you the exact area in the Amazon associates policy stating this.

so Jay, there still seems to be some lack of clarity over this subject, so hopefully you can clear the questions up.
I too had been told by several people not to use Amazon's photos while on the 180-day approval process.
so........
1, you can use the images as long as you maintain ratios.
2, Can you use their images and embed their site stripe code into the same image?
3, Is there some other way we should be using their images & codes while on probation?
This seems to be a very important topic for a lot of people, and more so when it appears that WA's default system for potential affiliate programs seems to be Amazon.
Let's hope we can clear this up once and for all.
am not sure if this will hit all the right audience so I will copy and paste as general question, no offence meant.
Rob
Hi Rob,
Your answers:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. No
The process is really simple.
a. find product on Amazon
b. download image from Amazon
c. upload the image to your website
d. link the image with your affiliate link (which can be the same 'site stripe code')
No, this is not true. I'm sorry. AndyCulvin showed that in a good article, so it confirmed what people thought: that you are not allowed to use an image from their site.
Thank you for this Jay. I have been told by a few Ambassadors here that you cannot use their images unless you have made three sales. Is this incorrect? I hope so because if I can use the images, this will be a whole new ball game for me.
Please let me know when you have some time.
Thank you again,
Mike
Hi Mike,
If this was the case, then it would be stipulated within the policy documents.. which it is not. So you are good to go.
I believe what they are referring to is the use of Amazon's Product Advertising API which helps in the use of showing images via their code system.
I guess that is the point, as you can´t use AAWP if you haven´t got these three sales.
So if I understand this 100% because it is important, even so we use the code system API to have link to the products, was can use this system with the image?
Meaning is it ok to mix 2 systems from them together?
Too. I didn´t see which link you used to bring the image to your site. Can we use the API link? Sorry, I am confused, but this is so important; it is very difficult to sell a product without an image of it.
What I am going to do is use the SiteSripe link, download the image, and put that link embedded into the picture. I do not see why this is a problem according to Jay.
I have zero sales with Amazon and my 6 months is about up in 3 weeks. I have a tremendous amount of work to do but I think this will turn things around.
If Jay has a different approach, I am sure he will let us know.
Mike
I sent a message to Amazon and they said if your account has been approved, you can use their images. I got some bad advise early on but, according to Jay, we are good to go.
No question about the method? Because they are different and they not allow it in AAWP.
I use Sitestrip, too, but it is so important to have it very clear.
I thought this was some misunderstanding.
It has never been allowed to copy images from their site.
Showed very clearly here. So, the answer from Amazon must be a misunderstanding or a mistake. Do NOT Directly Copy Images From Amazon.

I think I need a clarifier, Jay.
I'm still in the getting approved phase, so, a manual review is still to come. Prepping the site to make sure it's compliant, GPT is absolutely insistent that my current hotlinking is against ToS. As-is my current disclosure statement that's missing the exact wording "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases."
From what I've read up on this, Site Stripe has removed the text + image option when generating affiliate links. My account has no option to use text + images so that much is true for new Associates accounts. Also, the PA-API is locked until approved. Even then, it seems to only be accessible through tools like AAWP or Lasso, or one that looks shady to me - AzonPress.
Since you did this video, have things changed?
It feels like new accounts are being tested on the ability to drive sales with text only, then if you can do that, they'll help to improve sales by unlocking access to the PA-API. And for that, it seems like it's become a developer tool, restricted to plugin and tool developers.
