Watching my Google Adsense Income Growing!

When I first started working online I was told not to bother with Google Adsense because it will never amount to a substantial amount of income even if I have loads of traffic.

So I never bothered with it when I first started. Then I did put Google Adsense onto my websites, but only because I had applied for a Google Adsense account for my Youtube channel.

I added Google Adsense to my website side bars and left it like that and never really bothered with it. Then I started getting a few clicks and making a small amount of money for views.

I was hooked, because well any way that I can see I can make money interests me. I then started adding some Google Ads within my content too and I saw my income increase a bit.

Then I started taking note of where I put my ads and thinking a little about the keywords that I use for my content.

Anyway in November my Google Adsense income was R127 ($9.69), in December it was R175 ($13.35), in January it was R255 ($19.45) and now this month to date it is already R406 ($30.96).

While I am not exactly working harder or creating a huge amount more content I am playing around with different things to see what works on my websites and what doesn't.

And yes while R400 (or $30) is still not a massive amount of income I can certainly see how I can grow this to be a substantial portion of my income with time and hard work.

The thing is that to add a few bits of code for my Google Ads into a post when I am finished just takes a few seconds, so this is truly residual income for me because I have to write content anyway don't I?

So my experience now is telling me that actually Google Adsense can be worthwhile and I will keep you updated on my earnings over time :)

I am looking forward to seeing how I can grow this income stream!

You're so right. You're writing content anyway. Why not? Any amount of residual income is worth it.

Thanks Lynn for this advice.
My Google Adsense was great up to a year ago. It is very minimal now!
I read recently about inserting Adsense adds within content to increase earnings. I haven't done that yet, but on reading your blog I believe it's time to give it a try!

Valerie that is when my income started growing, when I added Google Ads within my content :)

That is really great Lynne.
I have thought for a long time about inserting Adsense within the content of my website. However, I'm not too keen on having, for example, a centered Adsense advt with white space on either side.
I would prefer to set the Adsense advt either right or left side and wrap the content around the add.
I wondered if you do that, or if your know I do it.
Perhaps a plugin would need to be used!

That's wonderful news!! I've noticed this year that my AdSense revenue is growing as well. Not a ton, but definitely more than at this period last year.

I've been doing a little experimenting too, putting Google Ads in all my sidebars now including on the front page of my website and clicks are slowly increasing as well as getting MUCH more impressions. My revenue is now over $10 for the first time and is slowly increasing.

I've been thinking about putting some AdSense Ads in my content as well and also putting some new kinds of ads from Amazon Associates in there too. Not in all of my content, just a few here and there. I too want to see revenue continue increasing this way.

Brian the best clicks I get are from the ads within my content as opposed to the side bars :)

That's awesome! I'm gonna have to start trying that out.

Very interesting, thank you!

Thanks for the input, I hope to be hitting up on that soon!!!

I recently started with Google Adsense and am making a small amount. I am going to play around with it and see what happens after reading this.
Erica

Oh yes you must! One thing I read recently is that you must put a Google Ad in your content just above the fold... and it seems to be working well for me.

This is good.

Have you had any issues with site speed as a result of too many codes?

Hey Geoff :) My site speed is fine on all my websites.

I recently got adsense on my site, im only making a couple of dollars a month though so Ill have to give my website more time to grow before I can think more about using it.

Thanks for sharing this!

That's great! My Google Adsense also started off with next to nothing as I had a very small amount of traffic. Now my Adsense earnings are increasing. I'm getting a few clicks a day. Over time I'm sure it will increase more.
