Well don't get discouraged, It happens to the best of writers. Did you know that writers block can be controlled?

"Coleridge is one of the first known case of what we call writer's block. Sometimes, "block" means complete shutdown: the writer stops writing."

  • Have you ever found yourself just staring at your computer, a blank screen
  • You'e distracted by your t0-do-list,but when you start to write nothing comes to thought.
  • You sit there, and your mind just wanders
  • A post is due, and you need to write asap, but there are n thoughts or ideas to get started with.
  • Maybe the subject you're writing about is not interesting anymore.

Below are a few tips I thought maybe helpful:

  1. Listen to some nice relaxing music
  2. Take a walk
  3. Read a book on a different subject
  4. Do some mediatation
  5. Do some freewriting

Give yourself sometime to get back into the swing of things. Don't be to harsh, and don't judge yourself negatively. Adjustment and adaptation is needed. Make a few changes to your writing process. Drink plenty of water during this time. Sometimes the body and mind is dehydrated.

Review some of the works from well know bloggers. I am sure they would have something to say as I am sure they could talk from experience.

Cheers,

Hey AlanJE,
Thanks for the like.

Ken

Kenneth thank you for your timely advice! I will do just so.

Cheers,

I take a break, watch some TV, or I look at some websites and see what others are doing and writing about. One of my favourites is just to come to WA, read some posts, comment and talk, it always gets me motivated again.
Jenny

Jenny that is a great way to get motivated and learn something new!
Thank you for connecting!

Thanks Loes for sharing that link.

Alright!

Hello Louisa,
I just move away and watch a bit of comedy for a while. Sometimes I will have a good nights sleep before I look at my writing again. Often that way when I get up in the morning I just sit at the keyboard and the words just flow.

Derek

Derek your list is right on point. Watching comedy is one of my escapes.
Thank you for your input!

You're welcome Louisa

Derek

My way of dealing with writers block maybe unorthodox or even controversial. I use a PLR article on the subject at hand and then do a great editing job. I find this easier than staring at a blank page.
I may write a blog post on the strategy.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Karen, I think your way to overcome the block is extraordinary. I can surely identify to your thought. Thank you for sharing them.

Blank canvas is good, but a little structure is good as well some times. I like it.

Thanks Louisa. I go to youtubr and get some inspiration.

Thanks Louisa!

Good. Thanks for share

Larmu, you're welcome!

When I was walking the dogs this morning I had two blog post ideas come to mind and I wrote one up today. We got a promotional magazine from the pet food store and it gave me an idea for a cat tracker post.
Trevor

Wow! That wasn't difficult for you. Both scenarios
fell right in place.

Thank you for sharing this comment.

Just when I thought of this you came up with the tips. Thanks.

I guess that's another reason I'm here!
