My Website is on No 1 in Google, but is that really true?
My website is on No. #1 In Google!!!!
Google has a ranking system, that's true!
But does your website really scores no #1 ?
You probably have heard of cookies and cache and memories on your computer.
So Google memorized things too.
You can see that very clearly when you surf the internet for a coffee machine. After that your sidebars are having all kind of ads for coffee machines. Facebook, outlook etc.
Google shows you what you want to see!
So when you check -up your website for what rank Google gives you, you probably are missleaded by all kinds of memories on Google and on your own computer.
So what to do?
1. Open a private window in your browser, go to http://www.sitemapdoc.com/Serp-Rank.aspx, fill in your url and keywords and check if you are listed in the first 64 sites which will appear.
2. Go to a friend or an internet cafe to check your rankings in google for your website.
3. Check your site on http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engines/pagerank.html
And when you score then No #1 in Google, you are Super !!!
When do you probably come near the first page
1. Ofcourse with splendit keywords
2. When your website is 6 mnth +
3. When you have written about 200 posts
4. When you are every day active adding new stuff.
I wish you success with developing your skills and creating an unique website!
The one and only No #1 ranked website will be yours!

There's a little button on Google in the top right of the background that changes the results from personal to public and vice versa.

You can just check it in the Site Rank module of Jaaxy if you have a subscription as well. Also, http://proranktracker.com/ is a dedicated service to checking your site ranking and reflected keywords. They have a free service for unlimited URLs and 50 search terms (keywords). Its a great service and has many notification settings via email (for example if your webpage gets to the top #10 in the search engines or #1 spot), and also daily recaps to see where you're ranking.
Hi Matt, thanks for your addition, you are good informed:) I see peoples blogs telling they are ranked on page #1 within a month, and when I am checking up the websites, they have p.e. 4 pages and 3 posts about making money online, that's for whom this blog is for. To create some reality.
Oh of course! I totally understand. Also, there's a little button on Google in the top right of the background that changes the results from personal to public and vice versa. Maybe you could add that in there too?

Good stuff for newbies to be aware of. I see SO many newbies here all excited because they are ranked on the first page and "it's only been 3 weeks!"
Then you find out they searched not for keywords, but for their own site's exact name, on their own cookie-influenced machine, lol.
That's right Marvin
