Thanks for your answer, but while we don't talk about the ftc disclosure, can that have some unknown impact on our work?
Hi Casey,
No, you don't need to add the whole FTC bible ... What is important: to have a clearly visible disclosure on your site
All you need to do is tell people you are an affiliate, you can have something in your footer and you can also have a link to an affiliate disclosure page on your site.
I have an affiliate disclaimer you can copy for your site - Affiliate & Earnings Disclaimer Copy

Has anyone done a comparison of these two keyword research tools and if so which do you think is better?
I watched a video review on SEMRush after I asked the question here just to see what all the buzz is about on that one. It appears that SEMRush offers more of a deep dive into what competitors use for their keywords and shows you a side by side comparison of where you rank according to your top competitors for those keywords.
I like that Jaaxy is integrated into this platform as well. I've used Jaaxy before for websites in the past and have ranked in Google on the top 5 for keywords on posts so I know it works for posts.
As for when it comes to selecting a URL name using keywords from Jaaxy that generate high monthly traffic and searches though I have a had a different experience. Every URL I have ever selected out of the 5 websites I built on this platform in the past have never brought in much traffic using Jaaxy. They could rank but as far as traffic that Jaaxy said it would generate it never came close.
So that was why I asked if anyone has ever used SEMRush to see if they have had a good or bad experience with URL name selections that generate descent traffic using that tool and how it compares to Jaaxy.
Thanks for the responses here.
I was using the free version of VidIQ to spy on YouTube rankings in much the same way. Only less work. VidIQ plugs into Chrome and pops all that info next to the videos as you go along.
Just need to check if there is a BlogIQ from the same crew
What I found was 90% of the web is not flowing WA training on how to rank. Well, my % of my competitors. They just do great content and rely on a name a lot.
Well for us jaaxy is going to be better because we don’t have to pay extra for it and it’s a great platform . That holds until you decide to uograde it .
I have heard great things about semrush .... I plan on trialing it soon because I plan on paying soon for upgraded features and I’ve heard great things about semrush and things they have over there not in jaaxy.
I dont have a answer but jay still uses jaaxy and honestly if he thought another keyword tool was better he could easily afford it so.... just something to keep it mind.
I think for my trial I will run the same keywords( maybe 5) , compare the results , write the articles and see how it all compares.
I’ll most likely be looking at google too in a attempt to answer thiis.
Most people here use jaaxy , I don’t know anyone who doesn’t so I’ll be super interested to hear from anyone who switched and why.
I googled it and found a bunch of affiliates running comparisons and a bunch of ads for other tools.
For now, Jaaxy just works for me as well.
That’s the thing though , I take affiliates with a grain of salt ... just look at all the people who promote jaaxy just because it does indeed work and that’s all they ever used because it’s here .
I love jaaxy , no doubt but I’m not taking a Jaaxy affiliates word it’s the the best no more than I’m taking a semrush affiliates word it’s best.
When it comes time for to commit .... I will know the best for me not what others want to be the best so they earn a commission.
It’s a issue I could climb a whole soapbox on but if one is indeed better than .... why?
For now I have not seen the way and I’m looking for it , just spin which is why I plan on running my own experiments.
I guess I should just mention here I literally back all the way out of any website that gives me a pop up in the first 5 seconds so you probably read a lot more than me simply because pop ups scream spam and affiliates to me .
Even my affiliate for wa didn’t use pop ups like that which is why I clicked even knowing it was a affiliate .
I don’t know but it’s weird to be a affiliate marketing person and at the same time hate all the sales tactics that are popular in that area .
I am just going to find out on my own loll
Yep. That is what I was finding.
Boom! Pop-up. Clear it so I can read. Boom. Fully blocked and have to sign to read? No. You have to prove to me that you are worth the time to get off your lists. Also, if that is the marketing practice I know my info is being sold everywhere. And when I think it is safe a year later boom sold again. No ad spam is not cool.
Jay had a great point. He said something like.
Prove to me that your ad spammy pages with links all over the page convert higher than clean pages that contain high-quality content and a limited number of links.
Pretty sure this is the link Hot Seat! Summer 2018 My reply back was something like
I am not LA Times or something like that. They have tons of authority and people will push through the crap to get to their content because it is good content and you know that you will get something for the effort. I am not willing to do so. I will ask someone else to read it to me.
Ad spam pushes me away fast. Do not make me work to read. It is hard enough for me to read already I do not need to play whack the pop-ups game to get my information. I just leave.
If you follow the normal look and feel of websites out there you will end up with an ad spammy page.
Header banner ad = really I have not even seen if you have the worth for me to click there?
Sidebar ads = too busy gotta start my exit strategy
First of the content area ads right at the 2-3 paragraph mark as the page starts to scroll.
That first page is a framed trap! Get out!
The other is the purposeful content to ad transitions being blurred. Kinda sleazy.
I have to be able to sleep at night, I have to go clean.
Exactly between the heavy ads and the aggressive pop ups it gets to the you spend more time clicking out of pop ups and muting ads than you do actually reading what you came for.
I like simply close the tab and move on , worse are the pop ups that literally hide the x so you can’t find it to easily get rid of it .
It’s like , so you are trying to force me to give you my info before you even let me read the information I came for ? Nope , just goodbye.
My site has no ads and no pop ups .... it’s stsying like that lol
I feel that this clean approach to site building is seeking to build a long-term relationship with your community built on trust and report. This is also closer to an Authority style site thought process.
Great question.
I prefer Jaaxy because it is already integrated here on WA.
The premium membership upgrades Jaaxy a bit from the basic free level. Since it is integrated here on WA I also can ask for help if needed. Live chat here is much better than trying to figure out some other services help. It is also already part of the affiliate program with WA. No need to apply for another affiliate account.
That being said.
I have not tried SEMrush. As I get time to write up a comparison for one of my niche sites Keyword tools will be a comparison. At that time I will be testing them all out at the free basic level. Write up my review for each of say like 5-7 of them and then compare those and post my reviews and comparison.
Interested to hear from other members that have compared them.
Clint,
Can you send me a private message when you write those posts I would be interested in going over those, from your site to see what your results are there.
Cheers
Casey
It will be some time. I took on way too much too fast.
I will try to remember. Months away from being able to get there. I have been going nuts putting in 16-hour shifts on a dozen sites.
That sounds like my day job with engineering fiber optic cable designs for Verizon and AT&T. lol
Fiber Optic cable. Reminds me of some training in the 90s. DWM dense wave modulation to cram more of the rainbow onto the fiber strands to hold more data bandwidth. Scored 100% after the two-week intensive training. All the telecom math is the same as the computer stuff I already knew so 1024 doubles to 2048 and stuff like that. Mixed in with new acronyms and vocabulary terms. The regional VP and I were the only two in our region to score 100%? Seriously?
Yea I'm not into the Wave length-Division-multiplexing. Not interested in working harder to make a dollar bill. lol We do a lot of math with splicing the cables to show the tasking involved for field techs and what not.
Interesting stuff but not my favorite thing to do. I enjoy building something that generates passive income and can compound or scale up and can get me out of the 9-5 a whole lot better. ;-)
By default, I had to build a niche around my knowledge base even if it is not my passion. If you know of something useful to those in your knowledge area there is a niche for it.
