Ranking in Google takes patience

We started our website liondenproducts.com on August 18th 2018. When we first submitted to Google we were on page 6.

I wrote 8 articles or posts for the site whle we were on page 6. I followed the sites ranking progress with Jaaxy over the last 3 weeks as I continually added to the site. We would move a couple positions here and there and slowly crawl from page 6 to pages 5 then 4 within about 2 1/2 weeks.

Then on Sept. 12th the site jumped 16 positions and landed in the #3 spot on Google for our keyword "lion den products." (See the pic above!)

It appears that it's bouncing now between the 3 & 4 spot and we have not used any advertising. The only tactic I have used so far is just plain old good content. My posts for this site are averaging around 1,500 to 2,000 words.

I don't know if that plays any significant role in ranking but, I am most certainly trying to focus on writing really good content regardless.

I also have another site that hit Google #1 spot for www.vidstudiocreations.com, however that site had no searches really and no traffic to it.

I chose the URL name as an exact match keyword because it was a good branding name.

Google Webmaster Tools and Analytics tracking Progress

I have been checking the web traffic over the past month to see if any search terms are popping up in our analytics or a increase in visitors.

So far it's completley dead and this is expected according to multiple sources from guys like Kyle and Carson. It will probably be dead for quite some time.

From my expereince with my last few sites before this one, it took about 3 months before search terms starting popping up and I had actual data that Google could start using to track visitors ect.

The take away from this!

If you have just submitted your site to Google for indexing and haven't seen any changes yet, be patient. I've heard from numerous professional internet marketers that Google can take up to 35 weeks to fully index your site by testing it from the web bots.

This is definatley not normal to see your site hit the front page of Google this fast on a keyword that gets some traffic and has some competition.

The only thing I give credit to for this big jump in Google rankings is the content I have posted. Other than that, I haven't done much else except followed what were doing here.

For a URL name...don't try and focus on getting the perfect keyword. I have seen a few other sites out there that have keyword exact matches for a URL and those keywords get absolutley no organic traffic. The one thing they do have though is branding potential.

So if you pick a URL that has no traffic, don't worry about it, just think about wether or not it has a good brand name or ring to it. You can build off of that and create a whole lot of posts that will bring in traffic rather than just the URL name.

This will lead to natural engagement and Google recognizes this which will bump you up in the rankings if the content is good.
