When someone enters there email you will receive an email letting you know you have a new subscriber. I do not know if mailchimp notifies you or not. I do know that awber does.

Have you checked in widgets? Maybe you can add it to a sidebar in there, that's how mine is set up
i just looked up opt-in forms on worpress plugins and downloaded one, I made one but it didnt publish just saved, and it didnt give me a code or anything. can you recommend an easier way?
Not sure of your admin dashboard in wordpress....isn't there an optin form you can set up through Jetpack? I use that one on another website I have ... give me a few minutes while I research the wordpress plugin itself...be right back....

If you want it within the post itself, then yes use text mode in wordpress; if you're trying to place in a widget, etc......then you place the code within the specific widget....not sure which options for widgets you have.....

If it's wordpress, make sure you go in "text" mode and not visual mode in top right corner of the editor, and paste the code where you want it to be while in the text mode.

However, it doesn't show up as a gray box or on my private page or website, i put it in the text section and have updated, tried this several times...other html's show up but on my posts but this widget will not..its for what I recommend on Amazon. I am lost with widgets all together..
Like kholmes said, sometimes things don't show up. You can always open a private window and go to your site to be able to see it as the public would.
Hi , when writing a post check which button you have pressed visual or text , the buttons are found at the top right of the main body of your post , visual = plain text , text = html hope this helps :)
Some HTML code doesn't show up at all until you update and then preview your page, it will just look like blank space in edit mode. Other codes will show as a gray box or it will look like you expect it to. So you may want to add it, then update and preview it to see if its there.
If not, then its another problem.
I'm not sure. I don't suppose it could have something to do with your theme? What exactly are you trying to do with the html?
