You Cannot Do This In The WA
Hey everyone,
I've just finished speaking to Kyle because I have seen something happening a little more and more lately and I wanted to be absolutely certain before I made this post.
Please note I realize some members may be unaware this is not allowed.
So I just wanted to remind everyone that you cannot create a post here in the WA and then have a link to your website within the post driving traffic from the WA to your website.
So creating a specific short post where you provide some information and then say something like "to read more go to my website" and then provide a link.
That's not allowed.
Now if you want help with your website you have three options:
1) You can ask for feedback about your site using this thread, here's the link:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/pl...
2) You can create a post and ask for help for something specific about your website. And then if needed you can add your sites link so people can see what you're talking about so they can help you fix the issue.
3) And if it's a wordpress issue there is a classroom called Everything Wordpress - that's a great place to get help with - well everything wordpress.
I hope this clarifies things for everyone.
Cheers.
I believe in you
Leo
Hey everyone here's the latest PM I received from Kyle regarding this issue. Hopefully this will put everyone's mind at ease as well as specifically make people aware of what the rules are regarding posting here at the WA

I think if someone wants to help folks, writes a short post like I did it today and put a link to my site for full article it doesn't mean that I want to drive traffic to my site. Never. Just my thoughts. But if Kyle doesn't allow it I won't do it.
Like I mentioned earlier, I came across a post like that today and it got me thinking are we now allowed to do that now?.
So that's why I got in touch with Kyle to find our for sure.
Hi Leo, how about my tutorials, some html codes doesn't stain here, then I put them in a screenshot here, and tell they can type it over or copy it from my website, this way I helped a lot of people to codes they want, I also can't send them by PM. So I put them on my "about me" page at the bottum, and I send people to there to copy the html, java etc. codes. I don't want to do something which is not allowed, but I do not see any other way, to provide codes otherwise.
No that's fine - because you're not specifically driving people to your website to gain traffic
Thanks for sharing. I have seen more and more blog posts like this and thought it was a no no, but didn't want to be too quick to hit the spam button. Now I know for sure!
Would you suggest we let the poster know this via a pm or respond to the post directly? I just saw another one pop up in my feed.
Thanks Leo! I wrote a blog a bit ago that actually suggested violating the rules in exactly the manner you've described - a major misunderstanding on my part! Robert (boomergp08) read and commented about my misconception, and I re-wrote the blog post haste - see The True Value of Blogging on WA Thanks for helping others understand where I hadn't!

Leo,
Thank you for this. It is always a good thing when people are made aware of what can and can not be done.
With that said, It is my understanding that it is also acceptable to use the following threads. Share Your Beautiful Content. Need website comments? the give and take comment thread https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback
I've actually asked Kyle if they have thought of having a do and don't page or rules if you will that are required by WA members. When I hear back I make a post about it
Yes, I remember discussing this in a blog recently from Robert, where we threw around the idea of placing the rules in the upper menu bar or the sidebar so that everyone would be aware of and there would be no confusion about the rules.
Yep. It's on the list. But people rarely read that.
If you'd like to know more about why lists of don'ts don't get read, I've written a blog post here : http://.. . OK maybe not
Yes it is, but unfortunately it does not get read as much as it should.
So I figured why not have another reminder.

Thanks for clearing that up, Leo!
No worries
