Ok, I have my emails' all coming in fine now. Ya ya because they are being forwarded to gmail.
How do I send from each individual email that I have, via windows and mac
I finally found the solution to my problem and I am posting it here and there, I have only gmail setup and I can send from any domain.....yippie! All I do is tweek the settings in mac mail like this;
1. Open Mail's preferences (Please excuse me if I get the screen details wrong. I'm basing this on the 10.7 screens)
2. Go to "Accounts"
3. You only need the ONE account here for your gmail account (you don't need one for the other address)
4. Select that gmail account and select "Account Information"
5. In the "Email Address" field add all the "From" addresses you need, separated by a comma (ie name@uni.edu, name@dept.uni.com). Put the "default" address first (ie The one to use when creating a brand new email that is not a "reply")
Sending email lol another thread sorry?

When you go to create a new mail within gmail there will be an down arrow next to your email address. Click on that and it will allow you to select any of the email address that you have set up to be able to send and receive mail from on your one gmail address.
I'm not a huge fan of web based email so I use outlook. The same principle applies. When you go to compose a new message there is a button that allows you to choose which email address to send from.
If you can't find it let me know and I'll PM you a screen shot. I'm not sure how to add images to responses. And I haven't quite figured out what services people are using to share their images through web links.
oh I"m not using gmail , I'm using mac and windows......I just don't know if I'm suppose to put the gmail account, I will fool around with it......I guess maybe I'm suppose to forward everything to gmail I'm guessing..I dunno yet its been a crazy monday so far and haven't had time to check
I guess now you're confusing me a little bit. What does "I just don't know if I'm supposed to put the gmail account..." mean?
Below is a link to one of Welshy's training videos. This is what I used to set up my WA email on my gmail account. Once I followed his instructions on how to do it so that I could respond using my WA email from my gmail account I didn't have to worry about forwarding or where I went to check or respond to the email because any email that came into my WA account would automatically show up in my gmail accounts inbox. Then I was able to respond using the email of my choice. See if this helps you.

I just clicked to compose mail and there is no "from account" and that is what I need, the ability to send from my business accounts. Right now I disabled everything except gmail in my mail program, but that isn't going to work. I need to send from my business account. Not sure why I am struggling with this as it's totally normal stuff.
What email program are you using? Still icloud or something else? I use outlook so I know how that works.
I am using WA for hosting and within the training Kyle showed us how to set up the emails from the domain to go to whatever designated email account we want works fine

Correct I can only send from icloud email addy: brendalemoine@ilcoud.com, .......I think before I was just forwarding everything to there, but my business has gotten a little bigger and I felt it was time to just start sending from my own domain.
I remember at one time I was using gmail for everything but for some reason I stopped using it, not sure if it crashed, or I lost stuff, or whatever but I felt it didnt' meet my needs. If I want to stay with WA I guess I better figure this out and maybe just use gmail instead of icloud. I can import all of gmail into mac mail so maybe I will just start there. Groan such trouble this is. I would need to recreate every single icloud email folder in gmaiil. That's a lot of work
Hi Brenda don't know if you have figured it out yet but I had just finish reading about and also there is a video on this if you go up to ask questions and type in send & receive your domain e-mail you will see it pop up by Welshy. It is recent March 22,2014. Good explanation.
nope I'm still struggling thanks will try all suggestions. So far I have setup my domain: brenda@bookkeepingonabudget.com in gmail as suggested, now I have to figure out how to get it in my email client. LOL
Hey brenda,
It depends on how you have your e-mail set up.
If you are using the e-mail forwarding feature offered at WA I highly suggest using gmail.
With gmail you can click the "settings" icon in the upper right.
Click the "Accounts and Import" tab.
Look for " Send email as" and click "add another email address you own"
Fill out your websites email you have set up as a forward. You should get a confirmation. Go back to settings and make sure you click the "Reply from the same address the message was sent to" button. You don't have to but makes it easier.
You can also set a filter to show a label on messages coming from those addresses.
You can't from what I could find. You can only have e-mails forwarded to icloud but the from will be the same as your icloud account.

I have multiple emails, but my personal one is icloud. I keep it my personal email because I get almost zero spam mail, and it's easy to control from all devices. Gmail is good for that too, but i prefer icloud storage. Just my opinion.
I don't like storing my stuff on icloud, so can't say much about that. What I do know though is that every single time I sent an email to icloud it has been undeliverable.
your kidding? oh dear, well I know it's just probably some server settings on my end and likely yours. I'm just looking for some kind of solution or alternative. I need icloud however because it goes with me...I store EVERYTHING there and dropbox.

Once you have your login details into filezilla you,ll never have to type them in again as it stores them. I know the details are a little tough to type and it might take some time but its a one shot deal :)

shoot, cntl p didn't work. I'm just trying to save my website because I need a backup...
so I was just going to ftp it to my computer...is there a better way?
Use drop box for wordpress backup, going the ftp route doesn't really create a useable backup
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/backup-wordpress-to-dropbox-tutorial
Yes, look for a Wordpress back up service that does it automatically, like this https://vaultpress.com/ or use a plugin. There are loads if you search. Keywords 'Wordpress Backup'. Here's one such plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/backupwordpress/
I checked out vaultpress and the other one , so now I have my site backed up to wordpress........but doesn't look like it can restore it anywhere?
Well, which service did you use? I'm guessing you used the plugin? Check out their instruction/ Some send a link to your email to download, some upload to dropbox, others give many options.
What software do you use in order to access FTP. I use total comander, and it's very easy to work with.
never heard of it, i'm on mac, i'm using filezilla, but it won't let me paste my username and pw......will ck yours
