Hey Everyone,

I hope you had a great holiday season and are starting the new year in a positive way!

This year is going to be big for Wealthy Affiliate, with many exciting updates and innovations planned. Today, I want to revisit our recently launched upgrade page and membership structure that I discussed last week.

We are now live with this offer, and all Starter members are now seeing this new, exciting offer.

We’ve also received some great questions, and I’d like to clarify everything for you. But first, let’s dive into this week’s beer!

This Week’s Beer: Sober Carpenter Non-Alcoholic IPA

This week, I’m switching things up with a non-alcoholic beer: Sober Carpenter IPA. It’s crafted to taste like a traditional IPA, with only 65 calories. Non-alcoholic beers are gaining popularity, and there’s even a local store here in Victoria dedicated entirely to them.

While it’s not my favorite IPA, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a non-alcoholic option that still delivers on flavor. Let's get into the updates now.

The New Upgrade Experience

The Starter Membership remains the gateway to Wealthy Affiliate. It’s the perfect introduction to the platform, allowing new members to explore the training, tools, and community without any risk—no credit card required. This ensures people can experience the value of Wealthy Affiliate before making a commitment.

But when it comes time to upgrade, we’ve streamlined the process.

  1. Why the Change?

Previously, we offered multiple membership options: Premium, Premium Plus, and Accelerated. While this provided flexibility, it also created decision fatigue for new members. Choosing between six options was overwhelming, and many struggled to decide.
  2. The Solution: A Single Membership Option.

We’re now leading with our Premium Plus Membership, which is our best offering. This simplifies the decision-making process while giving members access to everything Wealthy Affiliate offers.
  3. The Offer Details.
    • First Month Discount: $49 for the first month of Premium Plus.
    • Annual Plan Savings: $588 for the yearly plan, which breaks down to $49/month.
    • Included Bonuses:
      • A free .com domain ($17 value)
      • 10,000 bonus AI credits ($50 value)
    • And full access to the training, tools, community, expert classes, AI platforms, and up to ten hosted websites within the Premium Plus+ experience.

A More Intuitive Upgrade Page

The new upgrade page provides:

  • A Clear Overview: Instead of multiple tiers, we focus on presenting our best membership with unmatched value.
  • Simplified Options: Members can choose between monthly or yearly billing without confusion.
  • Detailed Benefits: The page highlights everything included in the membership—training, tools, community access, AI features, and success stories.

This change has already proven effective, with fewer questions and higher conversion rates. Affiliates promoting Wealthy Affiliate will also find this simplified approach makes it easier to share the benefits of upgrading.

What’s Coming in 2025...

We’re kicking off the year with this streamlined membership experience, but that’s just the beginning. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead:

  1. Enhanced Training Environments
We’re introducing specialized training environments tailored to specific business needs. These updates will make learning more focused and efficient.
  2. AI and Content Creation
    • Structured Content Tools: Streamlined tools to create high-quality content efficiently.
    • AI Imagery Integration: Automatically generate and embed relevant images into your content.
  3. Ambassadorship and Creator Programs
Significant updates are coming to these community-driven programs, rewarding active contributors and content creators within Wealthy Affiliate.

Your Feedback Matters

As always, your input is invaluable. Let me know:

  • What do you think of the new upgrade page and membership structure?
  • Have you experienced the benefits of the streamlined process?
  • Any lingering questions about the changes?

Jump into the comments and share your thoughts.

Cheers to a Successful 2025

This year is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in Wealthy Affiliate’s history. With a focus on innovation, simplification, and community growth, we’re excited to help you achieve your goals and build a thriving online business.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and successful 2025. Let’s make it a great year together!

Looks awesome!
Will the referral page amounts be updated soon? I am hoping to use some up to date screenshots but mine is still showing all 3 levels with the old pricing structure.
I also still see the old structure when popping through my referral links to see what my readers will end up with.

The old pricing structure exists still.

First month, $23.50 commissions and then $46.50 per month thereafter. And then $270 commissions for the yearly upgrade.

I hope this clarifies fro you here Alisha. :)

Thanks! I was more thinking for premium plus (mine is still showing the welcome offer as $99)

Yeah, we are going to update the affiliate page to reflect this. But the commissions are as stated above, there will be a small line to indicate this on the affiliate page when we roll out these changes this week.

Hey Kyle,

I love the upgrade. Just one concern I have. There are going to be some who are not ready to go yearly before they fully try it out. For these it would be helpful to let them try monthly at 49 per month and then upgrade to yearly. You mentioned that if they chose monthly they won’t have the 50% off yearly offer. When I joined wa I started out monthly for a couple months be I upgraded to pp yearly. I might not have joined if I new I could not upgrade later

I believe the yearly price is always cheaper than the monthly one! While they may not get the massive discount if they aren't ready to upgrade right away they could still jump on a seasonal (ie, Black Friday) offer later on, or alternatively still switch to yearly for savings even if it isn't quite as much as jumping in from day one. Unfortunately no incentive to choose the upgrade in a timely manner means fewer upgrades so I think that structure makes sense.

They are going to still have the $697 offer which is much cheaper than month to month ($58 or so per month), and we are going to have seasonal offers throughout the year for those that didn't get the offer at the first go.

Exactly, the offer is a real offer. If you want to take advantage of it, it has to be done at the outset. Not to say there won't be other offers down the road! :)

That’s makes sense Kyle. Thanks for clarifying

No worries. :)

Hey Kyle,

I really enjoyed this week's updates—especially seeing the focus on simplifying membership options and hearing about the exciting plans for 2025. Looks like it’s shaping up to be a great year for Wealthy Affiliate! While you’re sipping on your Sober Carpenter IPA, I raised a gin and tonic to toast the New Year. Cheers to variety, right?

That said, I’ve got a few thoughts and questions about how the platform might evolve further:

Enhanced Community Features: Have you considered tools that let members collaborate in real-time or regional/niche-based subgroups? Even something like gamified learning paths could be a fun way to encourage more engagement while learning.

Expanded Training Content: Will we see deeper dives into niche-specific topics or advanced strategies for video content creation (like TikTok, Reels, or YouTube Shorts)? And how about some guidance on local SEO for those targeting smaller, brick-and-mortar audiences?

AI-Powered Features: The integration of AI tools is awesome, but could there also be features for competitor analysis, copy optimization, or even A/B testing? That would be a game-changer for those of us looking to fine-tune our strategies.

Monetization Beyond Affiliates: Have you thought about expanding training to cover hybrid models like dropshipping or print-on-demand for those who want to blend multiple streams of income? It feels like this would fit nicely with the platform’s mission to help people build thriving online businesses.

I’m excited to see where the platform goes this year, and as always, I appreciate how much effort goes into listening to the community and staying ahead of the curve. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember!

Cheers,
Jeremy

Thanks for your feedback Jeremy, I don't mind a good Gimlet once in awhile (on the gin side of things).

I wll get back to your suggestions/questions here:

Enhanced Community Features: Have you considered tools that let members collaborate in real-time or regional/niche-based subgroups? Even something like gamified learning paths could be a fun way to encourage more engagement while learning.

==> Yes, we have considered that and this is where we are headed. The community here is in real time, collaboration tools and zoom aren't quite there in terms of full integration and there is a lot of issues on the video side of things, but our community will continue to be a real-time community with much more in the way of gamification and more engaging environments.

Expanded Training Content: Will we see deeper dives into niche-specific topics or advanced strategies for video content creation (like TikTok, Reels, or YouTube Shorts)? And how about some guidance on local SEO for those targeting smaller, brick-and-mortar audiences?

==> Yes, absolutely. There is a lot of knowledge pent up here within the community, and many people leveraging many platforms. We are going to build on that, allow for more creation from everyone, and also build communities around particular topics. So that is definitely coming as well.

AI-Powered Features: The integration of AI tools is awesome, but could there also be features for competitor analysis, copy optimization, or even A/B testing? That would be a game-changer for those of us looking to fine-tune our strategies

==> Yes, we have plans for more AI tools, specific to particular strategies and verticals.

Monetization Beyond Affiliates: Have you thought about expanding training to cover hybrid models like dropshipping or print-on-demand for those who want to blend multiple streams of income? It feels like this would fit nicely with the platform’s mission to help people build thriving online businesses.

==> Those could be categories that are trained on. We don't do them personally, but many here to do and can share their insights, training, etc. We are going to have an environment that is malleable to that, this is what we created a long time ago and we can focus on "what works now", versus a particular flow. So yes, we are consider this. :)

Thanks for your feedback here, much appreciated! All in line with what we are thinking, and some of the releases we have in the coming months ahead are going to be directly in line with this. :)

Thanks for the update, Kyle.

I like the fact people can still sign up for free and give the platform a 'test drive.' This remains a great incentive because people don't like being sold to in a way that makes them feel defensive.

The usual outcome of this situation is normally to shy away from commitment.

Also, once inside, reducing the number of decisions required when upgrading is also good.

I used to design and sell and found if you give people more than 2 options, they often do nothing. For some people, even 2 is a lot!

Anyway, thanks again. I am looking forward to all the new developments, coming down the line.

Richard

I used the new sign up yesterday to go from premium to pplus and it was very easy to see and understand everything on the page...as for non-alcoholic beer...not for me...I like my Guiness when I am in the mood for beer. You must try if you see it, the Sleeping Giant Brewery, they now have many different craft beers that are really good, including a Guiness knock off, all brewed in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Great post Kyle!

Florence

I love a good guiness as well, ideally from a tap! Glad you found it very easy to understand, of course that is the ultimate goal here to offer clarity, and remove decision friction. Thanks for your feedback. :)

PS. I am going to see if I can find that craft locally here, sometimes they can bring it in.

I have tried the Northern and Whiteout. Northern is similar to Guiness and Whiteout has undertones of grapefruit with bitters similar to Guiness

https://sleepinggiantbrewing.ca/

We have a micro brewey right here in Terrace Bay...I have not tried their beers yet...but we just moved here so I don't want to appear to be a lush.

This is strange info, but my mom ran out of high blood pressure meds once because she forgot to order them, so out of curiosity we had her drink half a regular beer.

A half hour later we check her vitals and found her blood pressure to be normal...funny part is that it stayed normal for over 12 hours...not saying you should drink, but in a crunch...this appears to work.

More than half a beer and your blood pressure will climb. I do not know if this would work with non-alcoholic beers. It would be good to know if it does work for those of us that prefer wilderness to people

Interesting information for sure, I am not sure alcohol is probably the best regiment for dealing with HBP, but if it worked it worked!

And thanks for sharing the link, looks like a very creative crafty brewery. I am going to see if I can find it in our local beer stores, sometimes it is hard to fine stuff from the east coast because we have such a massive amount of breweries here.

Hi Kyle:

Thank you for another informative and exciting "Beer with Kyle" vlog!

Overall, these upgrades align perfectly with Wealthy Affiliate’s mission of empowering entrepreneurs. The focus on innovation, simplicity, and community growth positions the platform as a leader in the affiliate marketing space.

I appreciate the transparency and opportunity to share feedback. I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with Wealthy Affiliate and leveraging these new features to grow my online business.

Veron

Hi Kyle

Thanks for this. I think the new page is easy to follow and looks clean, professional and simple to understand.

I have a couple of questions related to this, however.

1.) As I promote WA as an affiliate, what is the commission structure for new starters joining on this new payment plan, and then how will that change if they change their level?
2) I can see that you are trying to encourage people into the Premium Plus membership from the start, but if they can then drop down to a premium membership after joining, what would be the price they pay for that, and how long after joining can they drop down to Premium? I can see this being an issue for people writing WA reviews who might encourage this to get clicks.
3) I am currently on a Premium membership so I wanted to investigate the price of upgrading to Premium Plus. There seem to be 2 different prices which I have found which is confusing:
a) If I click on the Accounts/Subscription route, I'm offered the Premium Plus account for $698 annually
b) If I click on the "Upgrade" button just under my image on the right hand side, the amount for Premium Plus is $499 or 41.58 per month. Just wanted to let you know.

Looking forward to hearing your reply and thank you for all you are doing to improve the system for old and new members.

Gail

Happy to help you out here Gail, and glad you are liking the new design and flow of the page.

1.) As I promote WA as an affiliate, what is the commission structure for new starters joining on this new payment plan, and then how will that change if they change their level?

==> It is $23.50 per month for the first month, and then $46.50 recurring. And the yearly pays $270 and then recurs at that for as long as they stick around.

==> It would be $49 per month, if they were to drop down or $497 per year. The same as it was prior to this. They are getting the P+ for basically the same price, and we are simplifying the front end offer, with a singular one.

3) I am currently on a Premium membership so I wanted to investigate the price of upgrading to Premium Plus. There seem to be 2 different prices which I have found which is confusing:

a) If I click on the Accounts/Subscription route, I'm offered the Premium Plus account for $698 annually

==> Yea, that is a bug. I have reported, you should see the Black Friday rate as a Premium Black Friday member.

b) If I click on the "Upgrade" button just under my image on the right hand side, the amount for Premium Plus is $499 or 41.58 per month. Just wanted to let you know.

==> Yes, that is the correct pricing for you as a current Black Friday pricing. :) Any time you want to upgrade to P+, you can get that rate.

Hope this helps you out here, and do let me know if you have any follow up questions. :)

That's great. Thanks for clarifying that, Kyle.

It has been an exciting 3 years and I am looking forward to another year of learning and earning. I have made a lot of changes on how I promote and what I do and will be continuing to change my approach as well.

I like the sound of AI imagery as this is one area that could improve. In saying that WA is head and shoulders above the rest (especially for the money) and don't worry I look.

The starter account is and always should be an integral part of WA.
The new premium ++ into page looks great, clean and easy to understand.

I look forward to another year of moving forward. And I hope you and yours had a great new Year.

Steve

P.S. As for the beer. Pass, lol.

Hello Kyle,

I agreed with you that simplicity is something good. Watching this video made me think, how simpler did we make things to the new entrant.

Let us walk through the two price boxes in words with the mentality of a new person deciding to enroll.

I have the option to begin as a starter, but have 7 days to decide to become a premium.

Once I am a premium I have one month to decide if I want to keep my 49/Mo pricing.

If the answer is yes pay 588/Y, if the answer is no pay 99/Mo

if you don't pay 588/Y and decided to pay 99/Mo, then you lose the 588/Y option.

I am not sure if we have succeeded in creating the concept of one subscription and achieved the sought out simplicity.

In brief, we have:

- Starter
- Premium Plus for 49 for one month
- Premium Plus for 99/Mo
- Premium Plus for 588/Y to decide upon within the first month
- Premium Plus Yearly Subscription if one didn't catch the one month offer.

Yes, we have unified the package name, but in terms of pricing...hmmmm.

I am discussing this from a marketing perspective and how much the move is really achieving the simplicity and ease of decision making for the new comer.

I hope the points I am presenting can help WA in moving forward smoothly.

If I understand it correctly,

1. Anyone who came in before 2025 is grandfathered with the ability to slide up and down between Premium & Premium Plus. Those that came in after 1/1/2025 do not get the option.

2. New signups are also on a timer to upgrade.

3. Go beyond the clock you lose the 1 month $49 option.

4. Clock expired - You have no choice but to pay $99.00/month or go annual or quit.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Also note that this page/post still shows all 3 options - https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/join

See image below.

1. Anyone who came in before 2025 is grandfathered with the ability to slide up and down between Premium & Premium Plus. Those that came in after 1/1/2025 do not get the option.

==> People will still be able to move to Premium at a later time, even if they are justing joining and upgrading now. That downgrade option is still available down the road.

2. New signups are also on a timer to upgrade.

==> Yes, new sign-ups are on a timer (7 days).

3. Go beyond the clock you lose the 1 month $49 option.

==> There is an extension.

4. Clock expired - You have no choice but to pay $99.00/month or go annual or quit.

==> See above.

I hope this helps you out ;)

Clarity is what I needed. Now it is time to update my posts. Thanks.
