This year is going to be big for Wealthy Affiliate, with many exciting updates and innovations planned. Today, I want to revisit our recently launched upgrade page and membership structure that I discussed last week.
We are now live with this offer, and all Starter members are now seeing this new, exciting offer.
We’ve also received some great questions, and I’d like to clarify everything for you. But first, let’s dive into this week’s beer!
This Week’s Beer: Sober Carpenter Non-Alcoholic IPA
This week, I’m switching things up with a non-alcoholic beer: Sober Carpenter IPA. It’s crafted to taste like a traditional IPA, with only 65 calories. Non-alcoholic beers are gaining popularity, and there’s even a local store here in Victoria dedicated entirely to them.
While it’s not my favorite IPA, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a non-alcoholic option that still delivers on flavor. Let's get into the updates now.
The New Upgrade Experience
The Starter Membership remains the gateway to Wealthy Affiliate. Kyle I have noticed that all the affiliate links we have has finally been updated to this new version from starter to premium plus which is great.
However when you scroll all the way down to the questions and answers on how much it costs it still talks about premium at $497 and premium plus at $697 so I feel this would be confusing if someone would read that yet the comparison doesn't mention anything about premium
So amendments still need to be done.

I like the new starter membership. Simplified which I think is important for new members who can easily become overwhelmed or confused.
I've been out of action for several weeks and things have changed a lot. That's the thing I love about WA - continously evolving. The downside, I'm in catchup mode. But I'm still looking forward future updates.

Kyle, I wanted to clarify that Premium is grandfathered in, but there will be "no Premium" going forward? Only Prem +? I'm seeing info in Live Chat that confuses the situation. If Premium is available still, how would they go about getting it if they can not pay for Premium Plus? Thanks in advance!

First payment is always Premium Plus+, so all members that are Starter are upgrading through the Premium Plus+ $49 first month, or $588/year offer. So the first month of Premium Plus+ is the same price as the first month of Premium used to be, so it is a much better deal (plus the bonuses).
Beyond that, we still can offer the option to downgrade to Premium in the future, or to upgrade to Accelerated. That does still exist, for all members.

Exciting innovations and decisions! I love that you are so considerate about decision friction: the plethora of offers can be a real problem! I feel it, I must say, and have to protect myself fiercely against shiny object syndrome!! There is just too much going on, so I'm glad for the simplicity and repose this new page offers.

It might be worthwhile ultimately hiding the "pricing" menu item from the homepage now; as it could lead to some confusion when people sign up and see that there is only the option to upgrade to PP+. Given that there's free entry in, I don't really think that pricing page is necessary anyway.
I agree. I think we need to move out the Premium off of that page. We will get on that, though it is still offered to folks after the fact, it is going to create confusion on the way in. :)

Thanks, Kyle for the article. Again, it's a great idea to keep us where we are as Premium members, and Premium Plus+ Accelerated members.
However, it looks like (if at all) we are all going to eventually upgrade to Premium Plus+ or Premium Plus+ Accelerator, as this is now the default next level for new Starter members, then there will eventually be no Premium(-) membership in the years to come.
There will only be:
1. Starter members
2. Premium Plus + members
3. Premium Plus+ Accelerated members
That's my view, and it's okay due to affordability + benefits for each level.
If the above is correct, then the upgrading process will even become simpler. The only tiers remaining then will be Starter membership, Premium Plus+, and Premium Plus+ Accelerated.
To even make it simpler, there should be:
1. Starter membership.
2. Premium(-?) => I love this for now.
3 Premium Plus+ (merging Premium Plus+ & Premium Plus+ Accelerated).
OR:
1. Starter
2. Premium
3. Platinum
Why these options?
Having two premium plus+ tiers is still confusing.
Again, that's my opinion.
But, as you can testify in terms of higher conversions, simpler options are better than complex ones, especially when it comes to techy things.

We don't have two Premium Plus+ tiers, there is only one. So that is not the case, there is just a new offer for Starter members, whom all join P+ now. Once you are upgraded, you will have the option to downgrade to Premium, or Upgrade to Accelerated in the future. So that can be a consideration as well.
So this is the initial offer, and everyone now joins the first month of Premium Plus+ $49 (which was the same price of premium) and this comes with a free domain and 10,000 bonus credits. And those that want to commit yearly, can get the pricing at $588 per year, which is $49/mth average. Our lowest lead price ever for a Premium Plus+ membership.
I hope this clarifies for you, and yes, the conversions are the best they have ever been since we released this update.

You still have access to those, as you are currently a premium member. You can still move in between memberships, being grandfathered. :)
Starter members see the new sales page, you are not seeing it because you are already an upgraded member.
Looks wonderful! I'm all for the simplified membership structure. I did notice the agency option is no longer available. I missed the notice that it was going away.
I'm focused on all things marketing, and I like the way the hubs are divided now. The two-pronged approach allows members to choose the training they need at the time, which is very helpful.
I haven't fully explored the new updates yet, but I appreciate that WA is focusing on concise training. Time is precious for us, entrepreneurs, so getting to the point quickly is essential. While this is great for quick learning, there is still a need for more in-depth training for those who want to dive deeper.
Personally, where I am right now, I'll watch a YouTube Short before I watch a YouTube video. If you can pack what I need into a short form, I'm on it!

Nothing has gone away, you will still see all of the options within your subscription page. when you go there. So if you ever want to move to another membership, you can.
And I agree, people have smaller attention spans myself included. Shorter form videos are becoming more and more popular, whereas people have a tougher time sitting through longer form. In saying this, those that can digest material that is more thorough, are those that will thrive in the new world, whilst micro-consuming throughout the day as well.

I have always thought that the free membership is an excellent way of promoting Wealthy Affiliate, it enables people to test the system before they purchase, which is great! It's also good that you're showing the benefits of Wealthy Affiliate and everything it stands for.

Yeah, absolutely and the Starter membership is not going anywhere. There are very few companies (and none in this industry) that offer a truly free trial because they wouldn't convert if people saw what they are offering.
We believe in our service and that is why we offer a test-drive before anyone has to make a decision, and we will continue to improve, evolve, and innovate as time goes on. This definitely makes WA much easier to promote as well.

I have always thought that the free membership is a huge advert for promoting the strength of Wealthy Affiliate. I can believe that Kyle; although I don't really know who your competitors are, I can definitely believe that. I know that you sent me a list, I think, last year of very similar programs, which I saved.
I agree that the free membership is a great selling point. It's always nice for people to be able to promote something that is genuine.

Yeah, there isn't a lot of competition that do what we do in the industry, and that are authentically there to help people. That has always been the case, and that is why we have always really liked leading with the Starter membership as it allows people to get a feel and gain confidence in us (and the broader industry) before they have to invest a penny.
The Starter membership is definitely not going anywhere, and I do appreciate the insights. ;)
I'm not surprised, Kyle, as I believe that Wealthy Affiliate is fairly unique! It's great that you have been able to keep the forum so friendly, the majority of forums are not like the Wealthy Affiliate community!
Any platform that offers a free trial immediately gets my attention, not because I'm looking for free, as I never expect anything for nothing. But the fact that someone is allowing you to test the platform without even entering any credit card details is very much a plus point and a great selling point!

Will the referral page amounts be updated soon? I am hoping to use some up to date screenshots but mine is still showing all 3 levels with the old pricing structure.
I also still see the old structure when popping through my referral links to see what my readers will end up with.
The old pricing structure exists still.
First month, $23.50 commissions and then $46.50 per month thereafter. And then $270 commissions for the yearly upgrade.

Yeah, we are going to update the affiliate page to reflect this. But the commissions are as stated above, there will be a small line to indicate this on the affiliate page when we roll out these changes this week.

Change is always necessary for improvement and it is encouraging to see that Wealthy Affiliate does take this into account to keep abreast with the constant changes in the the tech world.
The new website is aesthetically pleasing and easier to read as well IMO. Hope fully this will help us members promote it with confidence and less confusion.
