Looking for reasons why my site is not displaying correctly in the Firefox Browser. I found a reference to Generate Press in the Footer of my site and Site Kit reports that I

Hi Florence,

As you browse your website pages and posts, cached is created in real-time - we have a sophisticated caching platform for all websites here at Wealthy Affiliate. So, after the first visit of any page on your site, it'll be lightening quick on the second visit at it'll be cached.

Sometimes when you run Google PageSpeed Insights, you can run it 2x and then it'll pick up the cached version of the page.

In regards to to the Generate Press reference in the footer - that's something that is part of the theme. Generate Press is very fast, so be careful when trying other themes as they may not be as optimized - most aren't.

Cheers,

Carson

Hey, Carson. I use Astra and find it good. Do you recommend I go back to GeneratePress?

Astra is apparently a good theme so if you are happy with that go for it.
Also if you haven't used the maximum three sites for hosting, why not create a staging site which site support can do for you and test that out with GeneratePress and see the comparison? this way, you don't affect your real site.

As long as the theme doesn't slow your site down and it presents the content clearly, then it's likely just fine. There are many great themes out there :)

Hi Carson It has been a week of things gone wrong, and none your fault. I was crawling the site to find errors when I spied a piece of code highlighted in green, and it made reference to Generate Press. I did run that theme six weeks ago, and up until today I was running Blocksy theme. I was having problems with it updating, and today Wp reports that there's a problem with wp-cron and that is why the theme in not updating. Anyways, I think I have sorted out the problem, by installing a new theme, hopefully nothing breaks from here on....thanks a bunch for your time!

Yes, I switched to Astra because of some limitations in the GeneratePress. I wanted to customize the blog page the way it is now, but I was not able to.

Astra does it! I can now have the sites I want with my fonts and colors.

I usually use wp backup, wp security and litespeed cache. I am not familiar with the hosting servers so I want to make sure that I use the right ones.

No need of cache, backup or speedup plugins.

Just click on websites in top menu > site manager > details and check there

Ps
Best is to have a test site first... before jumping

Thank you to all who reached out to me with answers to my question...my situation has been resolved and my site is running at 99 at page speed

Can you let me know your website link so that I can analyze it with Google page speed test and audit exactly what you have on your website. Use of plugins depends on what you have added in your website.
You are right to look for plugins matching the WA hosting is very important. Feigner has informed you the plugins that is not matching WA hosting server.
Let me audit your website first before give any proposal to you.

Thank you Stephen - but after speaking with "feigner" I went back to my site yesterday and took a fresh look. I found two plugins from my original install that should have been removed.

Like WA hosting Hostinger also provides caching, backup and security services. That being said I removed all plugins in those categories.

The menu still did not work - so I concluded that there must be an error or omission in the theme code, so I found and installed a theme that's been around for the last ten years and was up to date. Site is now fixed and functioning.

I am use to hosting sites that only supple cpanel, but I can understand the security requirements when running servers as large as Hostinger and WA and why all the inclusions are needed.

Again thank you for checking in on me and offering your assistance.

Best Wishes and Happy Christmas

Florence

Awesome. Have a nice day.

check out kyles blog about the plugins not liked here backups are done daily by support so no need to cover that....
cacheing is faster at server level and is now carried out with sitespeed set to extreme - so no need for a cacheing plugin
if your site is hosted here...

Thanks a bunch for the info and I added you to my follow list. My first site here and I have learned that the fewer the mistakes when building the better...hahaha

that does help...
with your other site was it all ai code or based on wordpress....
the dropdown on the home page for fryingpans menu doesn't work, but on all other pages it does...

the content is ai but i also have ai plugins. I have a problem on my mobile menu, not sure what is causing it...I suspect that it was a previous theme, that I had to uninstall due to errors and some of that code is still there. I also recall that all of these problems started right after the last upgrade for Wordpress. It may be a conflict somewhere. The search continues!

good luck with it....

Beyond shutting off plugins and turning things on and off in Lightspeed cache...AI suggested going through the code and looking for errors...a needle in the haystack approach!

Can be temporary, your site shows ok here.
Clear cache and browsers (can help)

Drop us a link to your website, and we can have a look. What is happening when you try to open it.

It is very difficult to help without a little bit of context here, so if you could offer us a bit more insight into your issue and what website you are having problems with, we will be happy to give you a hand. :)

the site is hosted on hostinger. theperfectfrypan.com
the site is written using AI via a plugin and is connected to my amazon account and my AI account. Everything works great on desktop, but on my phone even the hamburg menu icon is not there and when you touch where it should be, you can feel something trying to open but does not. I know it is silly but to me this is clutter and I it bugs me. This is not a WA site so I do not want you to waste too much time looking...but if you have the time take a quick peak, and let me know if you see anything. - I am going to start a new site to take my mind off of this one...hahaha!

Just wondering if anyone here knows how to fix a mobile menu that is not opening?
