The only thing I can think of is when you installed it, it didn't "match up well" with your chosen theme. If you go to "add new plugins", you'll see that some have a green check mark at the bottom which means it's "compatible with your version of Wordpress...while others state "untested with your version of Wordpress". I think that may be your problem.
Hi Gail,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. bbPress is compatible with my theme - I double-checked. But it still won't play ball, so I'm going to have to rethink!
Sorry I can't think of anything else ... I'm NOT "wordpress awesome"...just wordpress-struggling-like-everyone-else LOL
Haha. Join the club! I use WP for myself and a bunch of my clients - but it still likes to throw up a nasty surprise or a head-scratch moment on a regular basis! But my theory is, that between us all, we can help to fill in the gaps in each other's knowledge! :)

I'm wondering if anyone has found themselves a co-founder for their online ventures? If so, how did it go? Did it work well? What obstacles did you face? I'm asking partly beca
Well, it depends on a lot of factors. For example, Kyle & Carson are a positive example.
You have a nice looking site. My weakness is writing. I like the technical part of building a website and the other stuff, non-related to "writing".
You can send me a PM, maybe I can help, tell me what you need.

So, my WP site is running exceptionally slowly. On both the front end and back end. It won't even let me update plugins - or reinstall the latest version of WP. Any guidance wo
UPDATE: All plugins deactivated. Absolutely no difference at all. Can't install new plugins, can't reinstall WP. Total nightmare! Help! *sigh*
Are you using a lot of plug-ins or media on your website, these can slow down its speed.
Have you checked you website in "Site Health" under "Websites & Hosting".. This may give you and idea of where you may need to improve. :)
To be honest... my site is running OK .. and I checked the metrics on WA as to my plugins and they were 100%..
After this though, i wanted to out the social share buttons on and the Tweet, Like, Google +1 and Share plugin.... from there the metric went down to 70%... so for sure it has impact on the site speed...
Mine seems ok still at the moment though even if it says 70%
Chris
Thanks for the reply. I'm not actually hosting here at WA right now - I've still got my site hosted with GoDaddy. Who only offer limited resources for site health optimization. I'm currently deactivating all of my plugins and reactivating them one by one to see if I can spot the culprit. Right now, it looks like it could be an issue with Yoast, as that's the only one that now refuses to update. :/

Ok, a little advice would be much appreciated here. I already dived into building my site before I found WA. It's still a very new site, with a little over 40 posts and around
Wow, you have a brilliant website. I can't believe the amount of useful information is on there. It is amazing.
You have a very clear theme and your writing style is very inviting, it makes me want to read straight to the end.
In answer to your questions. Yes, it is a very braod websites and there are several niches there. However, if you rank good with it in Google, I wouldn't change it. If you can keep readers interested and offer many different types of information, they need not go to another website. I can imagine what amount of work this means for keeping it updated and engaging. It this is still a very new site, I salute you for the amount of information you have put on it already.
What I would do is restructure your menu navigation, so the reader doesn't get lost in what you offer. You sort of need to steer the navigation of the reader yourself. And do not forget to put Call to Action in every post, usually at the end. There is a bit too much in the menu.
For instance, you could put foraging under health. You could put crafts under DIY. Arent 'latest' and 'home' the same thing, an automatic blog roll.
I am missing an 'About me' page and a 'Contact me' page.
But apart from that, well done. Feel free to contact me anytime if you have more questions. Wealthy Affiliate is the greatest place to be.
I will follow you, I hope you don't mind. Nancy.
Hi! Thanks for taking time out of your weekend to provide such a helpful and insightful response. I have been toying with the idea of condensing or combining some of the verticals, but I'm struggling to work out which ones to combine! Haha. Trying to cram too many verticals in to cover the array or self sufficiency themes!
I'm trying to get more posts on there - ideally I'd like a minimum of three a week - but my clients like to keep me busy! Which isn't a bad thing at all. When you freelance, it's either feast or famine, so I'm totally happy to be in demand right now!
The site is incredibly broad, so trying to post equally across each vertical to keep all my readers engaged is definitely an ongoing challenge! On the plus side, I doubt I'll get bored of writing on the same topic every week. :)
And yes, I do need to put my "about me" and contact form back! I took them down to rework, and totally forgot to put them back!
Thanks again :)

Am I too broad, and is it too late to remedy?
