Set Google Straight
Two days ago, I set up Google AdSense for my site. I recognize that AdSense won't bring me a ton of income, but I'm not looking to get rich quick, right? Right now I'm just monetizing any way I can so I can get some help with the extra expenses that are involved in starting your own business.
Well yesterday Google emailed me stating that my affiliate marketing site doesn't meet the Google User Safety policy for AdSense. They sent a second email warning me of possible suspension. So all the sirens go off in my head, I'd better jump on this. I read Google's policies again and couldn't figure out what part of my website doesn't comply with their policies. (I was careful about this when setting my site up and adding content)
So I contacted Google yesterday via chat. I said please explain to me where I've violated the policy because I was very careful about this. I've read the policies twice now and can't find where I'm out of compliance. The lady told me that Google marked my site as a get rich quick scheme. I told her, "Google needs to re-read the content on my site then because it's exactly the opposite. In fact, I've stated in multiple places on my site that get rich quick schemes are scams and my site is devoted to calling them out and providing legitimate opportunities." She said that she would get with the policy hounds and email me when she knows exactly what bothered them. Okay, fine.
This morning I received an email that the Advertising Policy issue is resolved. It said they re-reviewed my site and determined that the site complies with their Advertising policies. So my AdSense campaign is now approved.
Moral of this story: Never accept anything at face value. Always dig a little deeper, always take action on what's right, don't assume the big dog is right every time. ;-)
Happy writing!

Congratulations, Kris! Way to go :) And a reminder to all of us - don't get scared by the big guns and fight back with arguments!
Good for you! You have given me hope. I will now ask for another review. I think with so many sites to review, they glance at it and make a decision without any real thinking.
Hi Tom,
Yes, definitely ask for another review. I agree that it seems like they glance over it and make a decision without really reviewing the content. By asking them to review it again, they were forced to actually read it and determined they were wrong. Never give up.
wow, good for you to getting onto that one! I always hear people say that once Google makes a decision it is not easy to have it reversed! You really can fight City Hall!
I've heard the same thing. I was ready to just say forget AdSense. But there was no harm in trying and yesterday was all about the lesson of not giving up so...I gave it a shot.
