The question is, are you trying to set up subscribers to your blog or an email list? These are two different things.

Subscribers to your blog will get notified when you post a new blog post. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/using-google-feedburner-for-e-mail-subscribers

An email list will get emailed only when you send them something. LadyOdd has a good link below, but check that the subject matter of your blog fits with their Terms of Service.

Just subscribers to my blog . Thanks, Tom

Then you don't to be messing with aweber, mailchimp, or these guys. You should be able to set it up with the link I provided you with. I used the same training to do mine.

Mailchimp may have a feature that does this as well, but I haven't used it.

Have you tried using this tutorial by Dom? https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-up-a-free-mailing-list-with-madmimi
It's to set up madmimi mail. It walked me through it all and worked out well.

No I haven't . Thank You very much ! Tom

Your welcome! I hope that helps.

I'm trying to use AutoChimp for subscribers and am having no luck. I can't figure it out at all. I don't even know what to ask, I'm so frustrated.

Please see my comment on your other question

I use AWeber and have never used AutoChimp. So very sorry I cannot help, but I am sure there are experienced users who will give you a hand!

Anybody use AutoChimp ?

I must have missed something somewhere or misinterpreted something five months ago and set my website up using jetpack. I'm being told to dump it now.

It seems to me I ha

I am not one of those that tends to repeat answers here but Andy is one and fifty percent right my answer to how to delete Jetpack would be permanently but ANy put it so so so much better-
Nuke it, then bury it undergound..deep.
Thanks Andy

I am not advocating installing this one, but a good thing did happen to come from Godaddy- once at least...
https://wordpress.org/plugins/p3-profiler/
is a performance profiler and shows what takes how long to load.

Jet Pack is not even funny, it was responsible for about 70% of the load time on a client site, and that had 7 other active plug ins on the go.

Nuke it, then bury it undergound..deep.

Hoping that that is not too "on the fence" for you, and as Jim points out it ain't hard to do...

~Good luck, Andy

Hey Tom,

Jetpack is a bloated plugin that tries to be all things to all people. The biggest problem with it is it makes calls to its server which slows down your website.

To delete, go to your plugins section and look for the Jetpack plugin. There should be an option to deactivate it. Choose that. Then after that is complete, you can simply choose the delete option and click on it.

Best Regards,
Jim

That's my problem I can't find the option to deactivate it. LOL

Is it listed in your plugins and does it say active?

Duh ! I feel stupid now ! LOL Thank You !

Glad you found it.

I have received 3 emails from China telling me some company wants my domain name. Unfortunately I threw out the first one. I have no idea what is going on. Does China have diffe

Scam! Is written all over this! I get 20 something calls and emails every day...all spam. Ignore it and move on.

Unless you purchased the privacy protection, these people usually get your personal email from your registering a domain name. Do not discount them as not being spam just because they have your personal email. They are people who try to scare you into buying domain names, or releasing yours. Call your domain name provider before you take any action. This is not enforceable and should be considered spam.

Scam...

As I understood, you don't have a .CN extension on your domain name. So they want you to register with all the possible extensions with .CN. The chinese domain registration functions like the english one with 2 domain extensions. So you don't have to worry about. Ignore it, but be sure that your domain name " growingorganicmarijuana" can be used by any extension except the .com.

I used get these all the time when I was buying domains. They are spam, a type of scam, not unlike the Nigerian one that wants your banking information to transfer funds...

I would contact where your domain is registered and ask them what is going on. I am sure you are not the first person this has happened to. Also, if they REALLY want it and NEED it so bad. You could have them purchase it from you, going through all the legal channels of course.

Most these emails they trying to sell you something. Most on similar domains. I even had some try sell me domains not registered. I open these as gives me reminder to check got few gims due to their spam. These Chinese it domains like your end in .cn. Worthless most buyers from US, Can, Europe, India. 1% of sales from China now why would I care about their gpod for nothing communist domain extension. Now if I was caring about clicks not sales they can click alot but I not going to help communist even if hurt my bottom line.

I did offer to sell it to them, but I didn't give them a price.

If they didn't act, then it is a scam of some sort. I worked for a company and someone wanted to buy our domain. We gave them a price and never heard from them again.

I get them daily. Yet to lose domains. What it saying is someone trying to register other domains like yours. They offering to let you have them first. I think its a ripoff as most no one but me would want them. But of course if you make much off them best to call a lawyer who specializes in domain names. None of them worth it to me worse happens I move them to new domains. Since membership sites could email them stating that so might lose some income but most would go to new site.

I been getting these Chinese domain emails for years I never open them now that know what it is.

Thanks J It does seem like a China thing as the domain ends with a .com.cn I think I'll just ignore it.

I am not sure, but this sure seems spammy to me. Have you called GoDaddy or NameCheap (wherever you have this registered?)

It's not spam, These came in emails directly to me, not my website. Haven't called anybody yet. I'm registered with GoDaddy.

I had a few things going on and spoke with GoDaddy yesterday a few times. They are so friendly and helpful I thought I had landed in OZ for a moment. I would suggest contacting them.

I hate GoDaddy. Their two tier authentication needs be kicked to curve. Tried registering my at&t cell number not work. Used my Verizon number it worked. So try change it to at&t week later it says sending verification to it yet it sending to old number I got 10 text as was not checking it as was checking phoner it said was sending it too. Now namecheap two step verification works like piece of cake. I went to Godaddy Facebook page to complain and it crashed guess I write them a letter. Thankfully I got 2 cell with 2 different carriers most only have 1. I only keep them as must have them to verify online stuff. I got second one when got premium text spam so blocked texts for few months. Each text is 10 cents GoDaddy cost me well over $1 for their sorry codding work. Tempted to demand that $1.

Do we optimize videos as we do pictures ? If we do, how does one go about it ? Thanks, Tom

The optimizing of videos is quit more difficult than for pictures. Yes, if you have your own videos, you can put a low resolution video on your website, but this want help you. But for the viewers comfort you should have automatic resolution, depending on the viewers connection.

It is a good practice to do so. There are plugins that do that for you. I am sue there are many to choose from. I personally use Google XML Sitemap for Videos at the moment, you should probably check out more than just the sitemap part of it!
