I have noticed, recently, whilst reading my private messages that a lot of you have started to produce your own products. You have asked my advice on platforms to sell the products. All of the services below I have used.

There are different platforms suited to different methods of communication. Videos, e-books, information products, Kindle books or setting up membership sites.

Here are some options to consider.

Kindle Direct Publishing

https://kdp.amazon.com/

Certainly this is the easiest platform to begin on as to a certain extent Amazon do their own marketing. It is always worthwhile marketing your own work though and this is where repeat sales will come in.

Top tip for Kindle don't produce one book produce a series of e-books that solve a problem. For instance, produce book number one about how to sleep better naturally. But two could be about sleep apnoea.

The ideal number for me is four or five and link them all together at the end of the book.

One point to bear in mind is the fact that you cannot PLR products and Kindle it is against the terms and conditions.

The advantage of publishing on Kindle first is the fact that all you need is a Microsoft Word document or open office. Your content should be at least 2500 words and you can get a book cover done on fivver.com for about $10.

Print your information products Virtual bookworm.com https://virtualbookworm.com

This is a print on demand service based in Texas. They offer more than most print on demand services because they review each manuscript and make very helpful suggestions. Because they choose what they print they then help with the marketing.

Membership sites

I have gone through my fair share of membership sites and finally I have settled on digital access pass. This is by far the most expensive and also the biggest learning curve of membership sites but it is the granddaddy of them all. It is the very best and there is nothing you can't do with it.

Digital access pass is, in fact, a WordPress plug-in so you still need to use a basic theme. I use studio press Genesis themes on all of my sites

There are numerous reasons why this is my favourite membership software. The support is awesome, but the learning curve is steep. It is also more expensive than a member and WishList member. If you are planning on selling multiple products and multiple levels that I would definitely recommend it from day one.

In my case, I am bringing out a product once or twice a month available on two or three levels sometimes four, so it's worth the investment. It integrates with all major auto responses and it allows you to use two different payment options.

It has a built-in affiliate program so that you can pay your affiliates manually yourself. It delivers content dynamically, you can drip feed it or presenting it all at once! In fact whenever you want to do, it is capable of doing it.

It also allows you to have free and paid content on the same site with no issues.

Amember https:// amember.com

This membership software allows you to sell your digital products, downloads, subscriptions and more. It works in conjunction with Aweber and other autoresponders to help you manage your email lists, users, sign-up forms and much more. It has a built in affiliate function too so you can run a professional affiliate program easily. It is marginally easy to use than digital access pass but I personally found it to be very clunky. Theoretically, it should do what it says on the tin but often fails to deliver. You may actually not find this but that is just a result of my personal experience.

If you are going to have only one website it is cheaper to use than digital access pass. However if you want multiple websites go directly for digital access pass

WishList member plug-in

  • Wishlist Member
  • A membership plugin that integrates with WordPress to turn it into a membership website that can drip content to members on schedule. It also integrates well with other software like Aweber enabling you to email your members when you want to. Unfortunately, it has its limitations. When a member cancels there is no integration with the payment service so you have to do it manually and that can be a pain in the backside.
  • Clickbank – Clickbank connects digital product sellers with customers and affiliates who want to promote the products. They have paid out over 2 billion dollars to affiliates and product developers over the years. Signing up is free, but there is a fee to list products as well as a fee per sale. The process is simple and one that many beginners prefer over having to worry about technology. There are advantages and disadvantages to using Clickbank.
  • The best results are achieved when your affiliates have a list and actually not many of them in practice will do this. So you can get a lot of affiliate you don't know what they are doing. To some extent you can combat this by adding your own training programs this is a fair amount of work.
  • I have had several bestsellers on clickbank for several years. I haven't used them since about 2009. I changed because there are other alternatives which offered better options for my types of products.

Selling Platforms

  • JVZoo – Sometimes referred to as a digital marketplace, it’s a place you can find products as well as sell digital products. Sellers get to approve who becomes an affiliate, as well as manage payouts themselves, or they can set everything up to be automatic depending on their desires. JVZoo integrates with a variety of other software like Aweber and Wishlist. One of the advantages of JVzoo is the fact that they are searched for in Google and that drives a lot of traffic to your offer
  • Udemy – This platform is a marketplace for learning online. They have a built in market of over 6 million students who want to take courses. You can create your own courses to sell through Udemy, you can become an affiliate and market other people’s courses, or you can become a student. This is a standalone system that doesn’t easily integrate with other systems. Their terms and conditions are pretty stringent and it is not as easy to sell your course in the same format somewhere else. It was beneficial when you had high-priced courses but I am told now that every course is nine dollar which makes it a less attractive proposition
