Why it is important to tell our personal stories

I share stuff about me. Not all the time, but quite often, if I think it can be of help to someone else.

Like yesterday on Facebook, I shared that I had lost 30 pounds. I expected the usual comments like "Congratulations," etc. But one response pointed out to me why it is so important to share good things in our lives as well as our website posts on social media.

I had been posting regularly about how I was eating differently to help reverse my type 2 diabetes and was losing weight while doing it.

Yesterday, I had this reply to my post!

If a sharing a post on social media can reach even one person, then we are doing our jobs of helping others and putting the needs of others first. You never really know who might be reading your posts and gaining hope and encouragement from them.

That's all I got for today. Back to the 9-5 job now! Oh and 1667 words on my novel, of course!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Well done, long may you continue with positive results.

It is so important to share a personal side of us. It humanizes our blog where others can see themselves through us. That is what brings people back and convinces them to stay when they do land on our pages.

Thanks for sharing.

First of all--Fantastic Karin! and glad that your story helped someone else- A good thing for all of us to remember. My computer has been down all day, and it was causing much frustration- when, at 4:30 central time I got it back on just in time to read your good news.

Amazing weight loss, amazing shared post. You can rest your head easy on your pillow tonight knowing you truly made a difference to someone today...

Well Karin, I think you're doing great!

It's true. I found a purpose, if I didn't have to pay the subscription fees I wouldn't worry about the dollar.

So powerful...you never know how far your message reaches so its important to tell your story as it will resonate with someone. Thanks for the reminder, best of luck with the novel ;)

CONGRATULATIONS, and a great job. Keep it up. Yes, I too write
about my life, and the reason is the same as yours, we do not know how our story, may impact others when we think we are the only ones dealing with the situation.
I too have diabetes 2, that is why I implemented walking every day, and taking corrective measures in my eating lifestyle.

Feeling great!!

Much success.

Helping ourselves and others is what it is all about. Thanks for sharing.

Called pay it forward ...
thanks Tim

Good tip Karin; it's all about the connections and who we can resonate with.

And congratulations on your weight loss and better health too - may it continue.

All the best,
Lesley
