"In the end, we'll all become stories..."Margaret AtwoodThis past week has been very difficult. On September 29, my mom died. I had the honor of being with her when she passed.Still, I am missing her so much. I guess you don't realize just how much you miss a person until they are no longer there...She was 80 years old. It has been hard to focus, but she was always happy and interested when I told her about the blogs that I was writing.Perhaps the hardest part has been helping my dad through th

It's been a busy couple of months. In addition to multiple posts being indexed (always a thrill!), I have also made a total of 5 sales on Amazon. It isn't BIG bucks, but any bit helps. Plus, as anyone who ever makes sales will tell you, it helps to believe that this actually works!VideosI have really been enjoying doing the videos for my diabetes blog. The videos are typically about 5 minutes long and fill in areas that might not be covered completely in the post. I actually feel very comfortab

I just wanted to share that the results of making a post along with a complimentary video every day for the past ten days have resulted in three articles being quickly indexed and (surprise!!!) a sale on Amazon! It had been several months since I had checked Amazon but I decided to check it out and lo and behold, there was a small sale! I was thrilled. As with every approach I have used in my business, I am very pleased with the addition of video to my blog posts. It has been fun as I said in a

Just a little update on what I have been up to for the past few months.I can't believe it has been over two months since my last post on here! Time truly does fly when you're having fun or if you don't know what you're doing! For me, it has been a little of both. I have been having fun working on new ideas for my blogs and most of the time I don't know what I'm doing! What have I been doing?I have taken on more than I can chew in some cases. I am still working part-time for the newspaper that I

Wow! It is hard for me to believe that I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for three years. There are times when it feels more like three days or three weeks!I am still learning so much. I still make errors. I continue to love my experiences here even though they are not all pleasant ones!Being a member of Wealthy Affiliate has been an amazing experience. I have made several friends and I have learned a lot of valuable lessons not only in life, but also in business.Lesson One: You get wha

A couple of years ago, right about this time of the year, I wrote a post about the monsters coming to our home. Here is the link to that post: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/karin13/blog/the-monsters-ar...I'm sad to say that once again, the monsters have returned only this time they came bearing gifts. My granddaughter is now 8-years old. Her mother left her when she was 6 months old. We have been raising her since that time.Sometimes her "mommy" won't call for months at a time. Then for a whil

The phrase, "I will" holds a lot of power. It holds power even as much power as "I can't." The difference between the two is huge, however."I will" brings with it assuredness, certainty, and a feeling of joy and accomplishment."I can't" on the other hand, brings with it defeat, uncertainty, and even despair. It is the difference between "impossible and possible." It is the difference between "do and do not."I Can't . . .Let's be clear, there may be things that we are currently unable to do, but

I don't know about you, but I find the railroad tracks beautiful things. I think the photos of them going off into some distant destination are intriguing and inspiring. Whether you agree with me or not, one thing is certain, staying on track is vital not only for trains but for us, as well.Getting on TrackIf you are just starting out with your business you may find it hard to know which track to take. I mean, if you do a search for online business opportunities you could find something like th

Hey all! I am so grateful to be here!As some of you may know, I have been struggling with type 2 diabetes for the last 13 years. It has been very challenging. That is part of the reason I started a blog about it. Anyway, I just thought I would give a little update. For the past several months I have been having high fasting blood sugars. I would get up in the morning and before eating or drinking anything, I would prick my finger and squeeze out a drop of blood onto a test strip and see where I

Do you have the mindset of a boss or of an employee? It's an important question. If you are making affiliate marketing your business, then you had better have the mindset of being a boss—your own boss. The problem is most of us have been employees and have been trained to be employees our entire lives. When we go to school we are taught to be good citizens who get jobs and pay taxes. We learn the skills to be good people who can read, write and follow orders. When we go to college, we might
