I can't make any more money
The "bad" news
No, I am not making counterfeit money. And yes, I can still technically make money. I just can't make any more than I currently make.
I got this piece of "wonderful" news yesterday from my day job employer! I was already feeling down in the dumps because of some other "less than stellar" news in the morning. So hearing that I need to keep my hours down did not make me very happy.
I am supposed to keep my hours at or under 36 hours per week because of budget cuts related to the newsprint tariffs that never came to fruition, but which our newspaper was charged for anyway by the press that prints our paper.
The previous week I had 33 hours. Last week I had 38. I didn't get a "pat on the back" the week before, but I sure heard about it when I had over the 36 hours!Of course, my immediate response was, "Well, then I will just hand in my resignation—today! I am sick of this!"
I didn't hand in my resignation, but felt "resigned" anyway—resigned to the fact that I will make what I make and no more (but I am certainly free to make "less" as long as I get all my work done!).
The "good" news
I wouldn't be writing a post at all if it were not for Wealthy Affiliate. I would have just grumbled and felt despair at that news.
But because of Wealthy Affiliate and my desire to work hard to make my websites "work for me" I do not have to be trapped. I can make as much money as I can dream about making. I can make as much as my goal and beyond that.
I truly, truly believe it. I am not afraid of working hard on my sites and I have been doing it for the past five months (nearly six months). I haven't made much, but that does not stop my belief that I will be making enough (and more than enough) soon!So what if I can't make "more" at my day job? It is my night job that is fulfilling my plans and dreams and goals!
Never give up!
Best wishes,
Karin :)

Hey Karin,
J.O.B. Just Over Broke!
And your post tells it all.
I've been watching LittleMamas Road to Vegas Videos and in it she talks about the magic number of posts that make your income Job Replaceable.
400 well thought out and researched posts. That's what it takes.
She garnered that information from more than one successful affiliate here at WA. Then put it to the test. She's going to Vegas. So Yes it works.
So with that information what will you do?
I think I would calculate out how many posts I need to do to reach my goals by a certain date.
Great Post I enjoyed the read and you will soon be able to tell your boss goodbye.

I will have to watch LittleMama's Road to Vegas Videos. I will make the time to do that. I have a long way to go to get to 400 well thought out and researched posts, but I am heading in that direction!
Thanks for your encouragement!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
I don't know about you Karin but for me a year goes by in a flash. If you can do even one post a day guess what! You'll be really close at the end of the year. :-)

Congratulations on being able to live your dreams.
Thank you for sharing
All the best
Jennifer
You have a great attitude about that Karin. I have a union job in State Government and for years now we have had no raises to keep up with inflation since the state was in financial trouble and they want to keep wages down. I am not healthy enough to get many other higher jobs that I qualify for, so I am stuck right here. Luckily it is a very good job so I can't complain. Because it is a union job though, no matter how good of a job I do I cannot ever get a bonus or be promoted.
Good for you for putting your extra time to good use building your own business!
Around these parts everyone wants a job with the county because most of those jobs pay at least twice as much as the rest of us "peons" make! They get regular raises 2-2.5% every year and great benefits! Nevertheless, I would much rather do what I am doing with these websites than work for anyone! It is nice having a good job, but so much nicer to make my own way and not have to rely on an "employer."
Keep up your great work on you sites. Someday soon you won't have to worry about that state job because you will be making your own way 100%! :)
Best wishes,
Karin :)
Karin, take heart and keep doing what you are doing at WA to improve your life. You control your destiny and your dreams. Don't settle for less.
Jerry
Thanks, Jerry. I am working on it! I know I am in control and I will not settle for less.
Best wishes,
Karin :)

You are right...never give up. I am hoping we all get a tidal wave of traffic to our sites very soon.
Thanks, Fran! Yes, me too! With Amazon offering free shipping this holiday season, maybe we will get a lot of sales!
