I am at my wits end, and I can not find any help on WP or GP. When I try to install the paid theme, what I get you can see in my piture below.

I followed the directions

Great plugin. I use the premium version also. It works well with Elementor too. GP has some specific layouts tailored to Elementor that you can use.

Cheers,

Michael

Hiya, Chica,
You just need the plugin. If you get stuck again shout me out. I have generate press premium too. Let us know how you go. Pm me anytime Chica x

Hi, Laura.
Nice to see you again.

Jay talks about and shows a little bit about "Generate Press" in his Local SEO series last month.

Exactly where I'm not sure.

I'm thinking that I will be needing something like Generate press very soon.

Keep us updated on how you make out.

Regards from Canada.

Paul.

Hi Laura,

What are the advantages of using Generate Press? I want to explore other themes.

Thanks.

Edwin

Jay discovered Generate Press and highly recommends it.

I love Generate Press!

This site has tutorials on every function of GP. It's been super useful for me: https://docs.generatepress.com/

Good luck, Shannon

OMG, y'all....thank you so very much. I had no idea it was a plugin. Duh, do I feel silly. LOL

OK, time to go configure this puppy!

For reference support is very good for generate press.

https://docs.generatepress.com/article/missing-style-css/

Generatepress premium is a plugin not a theme. Upload it via the plugins and it will work

Let me give that a try. But I did buy it, as a theme...

It is a theme, Laura, but you use it via a plugin rather than a download which is what you are probably used to.

Laura, I don't see the picture that you're referring to here. As for GeneratePress Premium, all you should have to do is upload the Plugin and activate it. The paid version of GeneratePress is a Plugin.

Alex makes some great suggestions here Laura. I hope they help. Steve C

Hi Laura, I just saw your eventual decision, so good luck with it, Alan.

After much debate, I went with thesilvergeekreviews. Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions. I really appreciate them. I tend to make things harder than they need to be.

What about mysilvergeek or silvergeekblog they are available with .com extensions

Hi,

I don't think it is too long, but what about the-silver-geek or silver-geek? These seem to be available as .com

Regards,
Catharina

Those are available too, but I wasn't sure...I hate trying to decide on a domain name. Would you remember a name with - in them?

I would as it is a clear name.

It's not too long? I'm leaning towards TSGReviews but also qaitin on hubby's suggestions.

Hi, have you tried silvergeekreviews?

Thank you. I will add that one to my list, for it is available.

Again, thank you for answering,
Laura

My domain name (WildernessSurvivaling) is 21 characters long (1 more than the one you are pondering) and it doesn't seem to be a problem .. So, if you like it, Go for it ..... As most people don't actually hand-type the name in - rather they are most likely just clicking on the link in the search engine

but if they were to type it in, I want them to remember it, to be fairly easy to remember.

With all due respect .. If "they" are not capable of comprehending of 'remembering' 4 simple/common words, do you really think they are a worthwhile target audience??
... heck, Millions of people had no problem remembering "icanhas.cheezburger.com"

Are you trying to transfer the domain name or move (migrate) the website?

Laura there are good training by others on how to migrate to new URL as suggested below. I had to migrate one site to another for SAC, because the other domain name did not fit the criteria.

Migrate?

Hmmm... I don't have any suggestions over what you are doing now. I've done that a few times. It is a lot of work, but without other options...

Good luck on it, Laura...

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Get a new URL and migrate your website over to it. That's what I would do, Laura.

Since it probably won't rank with that "0" in it - now - you haven't lost anything to start anew.

Jim

I have a new domain name here when I try to do the transfer I am told I can't use any numbers or characters, therefore I can't move it.

Was hoping there was some way around this.....

SiteSupport is always a next - best - step!
