I'm a fool, WA is a blatant scam

"Josh, c'mon mate, stop being brainwashed. It's obviously a pyramid scheme designed to draw people like yourself in"

"I can't believe you've actually parted with cash, you Idiot"

"Wealthy Affiliate? You can just tell by the name that it's a scam!"

and my personal favorite:

"Josh, stop living in f*cking cuckoo land; you can't make money online, period"

All this right here is MAD inspiration to prove all the haters and disbelievers wrong. At least a dozen people (friends, family and colleagues alike) have said something similar to the above quotes. And to these people I ask them 2 questions every time:

A) How much time have you spent studying affiliate marketing as a whole?
B) How much research have you done into Wealthy Affiliate to be sure that it is or isn't legit?

I don't see a single pyramid, nor do I see a single review stating that this is a scam, and I did my research before joining (as I'm sure all of you reading this did too). All I see is the thing that I agreed to pay for: A training program, and a community. Or rather, a GREAT training program, and a STRONG community.

And an opportunity to make a residual income.

Most of the haters don't even know the meaning of "residual income".

I give it 6 months or so before I make a single sale. I expect a flood of laughs my way:
"you've been with them 6 months and you've only made x amount? Well done (idiot)"

I give it 12 months or so before I'm making regular sales.

I give it 18 months or so before I can leave my job to become a full-time affiliate marketer.
And I can't wait to see the look on their faces.

My primary drive is to be able to work for myself, on my own schedule, reaping the benefits of my hard work as opposed to a corporate boss that couldn't give a rat's ass about my financial circumstance reaping the benefits of my hard work.

My secondary drive is to be able to wipe the smirk off of all the faces of those that laugh now.

So keep hating haters, I know I will get the last laugh. It's just going to take time, but it is inevitable. I'm sure of it!

Nicely said, Josh.

Paul.

Thanks Paul :)

Ive come across a lot of scams the last couple years doing research and every single time it says after their review , Wealthy Affiliate. They recommend this.

And there is an obvious reason for this - because WA is *not* a scam, but people tend to believe their gut instinct, before having used their brain (or eyes, or ears, or the internet). You only have to do a little bit of digging to see that WA is anything but a scam!

This is the very reason why I don't tell people what I am doing. Chances are if you explain it to them they won't understand what affiliate marketing is anyway. Ive tried. Autmatically they think its a scam.

It's the instinctive reaction.
Most of my family have raised their eyebrows as the first thing they do when I begin to explain to them about affiliate marketing, and WA. "Just be careful" is the usual, immediate response.

A VERY INSPIRING post, Josh! All new people to WA should read this! I hope to be where you're taking us as well!

Thanks bud!

Awesome post Josh. A must read for new folks. You have set a very realistic time table

Cheers Dreamer. I've had a lot of ridicule today, and all I can do is smile back at them. From now, 18 months seems far away, but in 18 months, the time passed will seem like no time at all.

That is a great attitude buddy.

Great post, Josh.
the only scam I see at WA is the person them self's not going through with the training.
so they just scammed their own lazy butt's

EXACTLY!!!!!
This is no MLM scheme, the ONLY way one can succeed is to put the graft in themselves; WA will not do it for you, they will just teach you how.

There is no grand illusion of making 100,000's of pounds in a month or anything like that, just realistic goals and personal achievements.

Josh

Love your post and I think everyone here at WA has had someone imply that we are as dumb as dirt by people that haven't done anything in their lives to prove you should listen to them.

So Josh I have some suggestions for you

1) Stay focused. You have had some success and you need to stay the course.

2) Stay quiet. I have found the easiest way to get past the negative environment caused by this type of person is to not mention it. If they bring it up ignore them. I'm guessing from the way you wrote your post this will be hard for you.

3) Only talk to people that are interested. When you have the success you are looking for, people will seek you out and want your advice.on what you're doing and why you're able to live the lifestyle you want. Give freely (Knowledge not Money) to those who you can help.

That's my 2 cents worth

Keep up the great work and I look forward to you reporting back about your successes

Percy

Thanks a lot Percy, you speak the truth. I've already decided to keep quite about it from now on. My colleagues in my department know what I'm up to, and they will ask questions every now and then.

Doubt will eventually turn into amazement, I'm sure of it!

As mentioned in one of my replies, there are some intellectual people that I work with that have shown an interest, however when I follow up with "have you checked out WA yet?", the usual response is "I forgot all about it last night tbh", and I COMPLETELY get the feeling of coming home knackered, and forgetting a suggestion made during the day.

That will change when they become inspired, and that will happen when they see that I have been able to create a stream of revenue.

Great comment Percy, cheers mate :)

Josh

Anyone that has achieved any level of success will want to bring people along with them but you can't make them want it. You already know the amount of work you have put into your business.

If you didn't have the love it, if you didn't have the drive and desire, If you didn't want it as bad as you do........it would be a JOB. And that my friend is what you're trying to get out of.

Chat soon my friend

You have a rather reasonable time schedule, new members should be aware of it. Great text.

Yeah, I did a fair amount of research into everything before joining. My initial 12 month goal was to be making enough to leave my job, but I now know that that is unrealistic.

I mean, it would be different if I could work full time on my website. I believe that an individual could be making a reasonable income after 12 months working 40 hours a week on it, but given the fact that I have to spend 40 hrs a week in a sh*t hole with not much energy to come home to, I think 18 months is a fair estimation.

If I'm not making enough after 12 months to even cover my premium membership, then I will consider backing out. I'm fairly certain that won't be the case though.

Same here. People don't believe me when i explain them how WA works . I am waiting for my chance to aware them.

Good luck with yours.

The proof will be in the pudding, and that pudding will be mine to eat, all mine nom nom nom

TBH, I do work in a working class environment, and there are a lot of idiots in my warehouse (of over 100 people). There are also some like-minded individuals, that have some intellectualism about them, and have shown a genuine interest in affiliate marketing, although I haven't made a referral yet.

As mentioned, when the proof will be present, I expect one or 2 of these individuals to be inspired to consider WA. It'll just take a bit of time.

Definitely. Do share us how it goes.

Good luck again.

Damn the haters, full speed ahead!

Damn them all!!
