I've set up my email account here. All was working fine. Tried to connect it to my Outlook, following the instructional guide on WA. I could not get it to work. Now I tried to

I created an Outlook video last week: As for the login error make sure you either type the info in manually or carefully select the info and copy it. Many times funky blank spaces are introduced when you try to copy and paste.

Thanks for the reply. This may be more info than you want back but I am not completely sure how support works here so....

Made some progress as your video was slightly different than the one I found here yesterday.

The one I watched yesterday used POP3 (so I thought maybe IMAP wasn't supported though I much prefer it). Nice to see I can use IMAP. Your video also got into the Advanced tab and the Certificate that never came up in the other video.

However, some other things came up.

I am using the latest version of Outlook from Office 365. Adding email accounts via Outlook/File/Account Settings is very automated and doesn't allow the level of manual input needed even when selecting manual. I already knew that would happen so it was fine.

I accessed the manual input via Control Panel/Mail which gets me the same sections you show. On the Advanced Tab, type of encryption for outgoing server did not have TLS but rather SSL/TLS. When I used that with port 587 I received an error message regarding encryption. Changing the selection to Auto seemed to fix it.

Installed the certificate. Then got a message that IMAP store cannot be created. My new email account was listed in Outlook with no folders.

I restarted Outlook. I went back into email setup and did Repair and changed saved the certificate in Current User. No bad IMAP message.

Now the folders were there. Sent a test email to my new account that shows up in WA but not on Outlook. Sent a test email from my new account that hung in my Outbox.

Restarted Outlook again. My Outbox was empty so I sent a new test email that showed up in the other account and on WA. However, the reply back to the new account shows up on WA but not in Outlook.

So as of now I can send email from Outlook but not receive it.

Given all that any other suggestions would be appreciated. I have set up dozens of email accounts on Outlook over the years and I'm finding this account particularly frustrating.

Here are the screenshots of my Outlook setup for an account I have at WA that's working both in bound and outbound. Check them against your settings and see if anything is different.

Thanks for this. The only difference I think I have is on Advanced. As I mentioned, there is no TLS only encryption options. The options are None, SSL/TLS (Outlook test settings fails sending), STARTTLS (test works), and AUTO (test works).

So with the last 2 encryption settings Outlook seems to test successfully, but I still don't receive emails (outgoing works fine).

And when you log into the web interface you do see the messages there right?

Everything is showing up in WA email. This morning when I sent an email from Outlook I got another View Certificate pop up. When I viewed it, I noticed that the certificate had an expiration date in 2015. Wondering if that's the source of the problem.

You said sending is working, receiving isn’t set to use encryption so the cert shouldn’t be an issue. It’s very odd that the send/receive tests pass yet you don’t see the messages in your box. Have you gone through all the folders?

Looked in all the folders. My sent emails are in sent. Nothing in any other folder. Very odd since Outlook tested account settings ok.

Have you tried deleting the account and re-adding it?

I did though I will try it again. Will let you know if that works.

Wishing you luck!

Sorry for not getting back sooner. Haven't been able to check things again. Someone doing work at my house accidentally cut my cable line so i have no phone or internet. Lol. Hope to be up and running soon.

Ack! It's always something isn't it? I hope you get back up and running soon.

Got my cable restored and back from travelling. I deleted the account and did everything all over again. Still not working. Only thing I can attribute it to is that the certificate that gets downloaded is clearly expired (2015).

Thanks for your help. Not sure how to resolve it but I am becoming frustrated with some of the issues I run into with WA that I never have elsewhere.

Very strange

Almost every website I visit these days has a pop up cookie notice to comply with EU requirements. I've used a plugin on several company sites I've set up in the past 6 months.

Thanks

Hello there. Go to this training link. This will assist you with your questions. Happy New Year!

Thanks. I've used that on other sites. WA seems pretty good about providing templates and recommending plugins. Didn't know if I was missing something here. I'll use that one again.

You're welcome. Yes, WA is very good with information here. So very glad for that.

Have a great rest of the week.
