When I post to facebook from my website there isn't a picture. How do I fix this?

Sorry, I missed the "Facebook" in your question.

There are many reasons this could be happening.

1. Image size too small. The minimum size required by Facebook is 560 x 292 px. If your image is smaller than this, it won't load.

2. Settings in the All in One SEO plugin not set correctly.

3. og meta tags are missing or not set up correctly.

-----------------------------------------------
Your best bet is to use the Facebook debugger tool (must be logged in to Facebook)

https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

This will show error codes and at least you will know what needs to be fixed even if you don't know how to fix it.

Next, follow what Kerri suggested in her earlier posts.

And maybe this will help too: ~Jude

Morning Jude
I've tried the debugger. I find it very frustrating. You are right, it tells you what is wrong but not how to fix it. Your bottom link might be the answer.
Thank you for your help.

I tried the link to No image Displayed. Did everything he said but I still get the silhouette when I try to post to facebook from my WA post.
Thanks for your help.

If you would like to give me the link to your website, I'll check the debugger for you to see what it says. Maybe I will recognize the error code and be able to help.

Also I will try to share a post of yours on Facebook (tell me which one) to see if I have the same issue from my end.

Good luck I can't make heads or tails out of it.

I see the problem. You have some images with the correct size, but others that are too small, so won't work.

See my screenshot of 2 images from your site, one image that works and the other one that doesn't.

When downloading images, the size should be at least 560 by 292 px.

To fix the issue, either replace the small images that are sized 150 x 150 or check the size options in the media library for each image to see if you have a larger size available. There is a choice of thumbnail, medium and large size and you are using the thumbnail size.

300 x 200px works for your other images, so use that size if it is available. ~Jude

Thank you, Jude
I will work on this today.

Your welcome. If all else fails, you can try the plugin that Trish shows in this training here. Images have to be the right size for that plugin to work. ~Jude

Thank You

Provided you've added the images to the corresponding areas within 'All In One SEO' it should work. But sometimes you need to 'debug' the post using this Facebook tool:

https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing

Also, I highly recommend watching this live training from Jay which explains using All In One SEO for social media images and so forth: Hope this helps. Let me know how you go :)

I watched Jay's training. When he gets to the part of social media he stops because he doesn't have any social media set up.
I tried the link Jude sent me to No image Displayed. Did everything he said but I still get the silhouette when I try to post to facebook from my WA post.

When I try to put a post from my website to facebook there isn't a picture. I have an image in my post.

You can add a Featured Image when writing the post. On the bottom right corner there is a section called Featured Image. You can place an image there, so when you share the post on FB, it will show up.

I tried, this but it didn't show up.

Oh, give me a minute to take screenshots, I know what you need to do. I do this on all of mine. The screenshot I take will be from one of my own posts that I have shared on Social Media with the image showing.

When you are editing your post, scroll down and you will see a section with tabs, Main Settings and Social Settings. You click on Social Settings and there you can tell your image to be the image that shows on Social Media when you share the post. If you don't see the image after you write a post and set a Featured Image, then Publish the post, then go back into Edit and you will see it down there.

I'm going to look it over and see if it helps.
Thanks for your help

You're welcome. It shows what I showed above. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

I tried the link Jude sent me to No image Displayed, which is what you had. Did everything he said, but I still get the silhouette when I try to post to facebook from my WA post.
Thanks for your help.

I am sure I saw a plugin which would do this but that is a while ago now. So I guess I am saying check for a plugin

I'm not sure if this will solve the problem but it may.
See my recent post on featured images which links a main image with your post. Let me know if that worked.
You should be able to edit your FB posts and add an image later too.

No that didn't help. I'm also unable to edit the posts I forward to facebook from my website.
Thanks for trying.

Ok sorry that didn't help. Will think again!

I'm de buying a page on my website and getting warnings. IT support thinks it is an issue with my theme and I should contact Word Press. Has anyone had problems with their them

You actually need to be in the Support section of WordPress dot org to get help there.

What theme are you using now? I can take a quick look for you to find the support thread for that specific theme.

As you say that WA support said it was a theme issue, you are probably better off switching themes.

There's a list of 45 free themes at the link below. Scroll down that page.

Depending on your niche and what you want to accomplish, any of those could work for you:

http://www.wpbeginner.com/showcase/best-free-wordpress-blog-themes/

Here's Craig's tutorial on how to find a theme from within the WordPress dashboard, change themes and add a new one, use filters, etc. ~Jude

Thanks Jude
Great advice

I've already answered your question the first time you asked. Go to wordpress.org and click on Themes. Type in the name of your theme in the search box and you'll be able to find their support page.

I tried that. I got an answer from someone with a coffee mug in their face that didn't answer my question. I asked more questions and haven't got back any answers. I don't think he was IT support.
