Persistence does pay off!

Hi to all us new members. I've been pondering for the last few days about whether to buy a domain. I think I must be taking longer than some new members getting the hang of how this whole business works. O.K. Decision made. Along comes my site. Looks great, next step to find a theme. Golly, just lost my site - can I remember what Kyle said in the training? No, I can't. So back to the training. Still can't find my theme, and now I've lost my site. again. Will have to get better at this! So, start all over again. Go to profile, log into my site. Golly, there it is.! Progress.! Found the theme this time. Good. On the subject of my niche, I'm doing travel in Australia, and have some great photos of the wildlife, taken in our backyard, in the days before urban sprawl. Well, they were on a C.D. - yes, I know C.D's arn't used anymore.! so a struggle ensued as to how to get the photos to my IPad.! The computers would not sync to the IPad of course, not being a Mac, and all the tech experts in the shops told me you can't do it without a computer with Internet. SOoo, my last resort was to run at full speed down to an older gent who had a computer with an Internet modem clutching my c.d. and together we transferred the pics and he managed to email them to me safely. Hooray. I now have them on my IPad ready for use. Thank you teachers for the photography course I took many years ago. I suppose the moral of this blurb must be that persistence eventually pays off, even with us older members. Hip, hip, hooray, I even managed to insert a photo.! Bit bigger than I wanted, but hey, nobody's perfect.!

Good expression of humor behind the frustration! Humor definitely plays it's part when we persistently tackle the many steps that technology insistently demands from us. Thank you for the chuckle the next time I want to throw my laptop or tablet through the window! Your persistent reaped good results .....Congrats on your domain decision!

You are not the only one taking your time, am in the same boat, I rather take my time, it works for me. Just remember this is not a race.

Jan,
We all go at our own pace and you are not taking any longer than we are at this.
Great job and hope to see you around more.
Sheila

Hi Sheila. Thank you for the comment . Regards Jan

Thanks, Jan, for your blog and well done getting there in the end. You are definitely not taking longer than new members! I still have sorted my niche/website yet! Hopefully persistence will pay off when I know what direction I'm going in!

Love the pic! Well done on your progress and best wishes as you continue to push forward :)

Thank you for your comment. It's great to know I'm on the right track. Regards, Jan

Oh Jan, you're right up my alley!
Without WA, i'd never be able to do it, or pay for it either......:-)

Hi Theresroth. I'm proud to be up your alley!, You're right, I wouldn't be able to do this either. But, if we keep referring to the training, we will make it. Regards, Jan

Yes you are absolutly right:-)))))

Hi Jan - I love your picture! We older newbies will prevail, just like we always do. I'm at the point of starting to build my website, but before I do, I'll need to read everything again. And maybe again. But there's no rush, right? Hang in and keep learning! Carol

Hi. Thanks for taking the trouble to contact me. Maybe I can get started on my site now the preliminaries are out of the way.!! I will have to refer to training again. Maybe take a screenshot or two, so I can refer without losing everything!! Regards, Jan

Well done! It gets better each day when persistence is applied :)

Thanks Valerie. Now comes the hard part, actually setting up the site. Regards, Jan

I'm sure you will do well Jan. Just ask for help when you need it.

Thanks Valerie. I certainly will. Jan

Sounds like you're making good progress there, Jan. It is well worth buying a domain, I generally go with NameCheap and it's not too expensive at all (as its name suggests). Like the pic, good one! :)

ThanksMac01. Maybe I can get started now I have a site & theme.!! Regards, Jan
