About JackBennett
Joined April 2017
My name is Jack Bennett. I'm currently 20 years old and have only been enduring the 9-5 lifestyle for about 2 years now, but that is long enough for me to already know that it's not how I plan to spend my life. I've quickly come to the realisation (through working in marketing) that internet marketing is going to be the future, which is exactly what I want to become apart off. I plan to learn and better myself on affiliate marketing and live my life, on my rules.

Never hesitate to contact me if you would like to bounce some ideas or generally ask me about some of my expertise in email marketing (that's my job).

Hey Gary,

Email marketing is massive to be completely honest with you and it can be a driving force to generate way more sales. Although, you need to do it right in order to be successful with email and it can take a while to get your head round the correct formula.

In terms of setting it up, I won't be much help, as the company I work for uses their own email tool so I have never needed to use any other email tools, nor have I ever had to set anything up.

The reason I say email is so important is because you are keeping a customer who either has trust in you, likes your content or has potentially bought from you. This means that you have a list of people that you KNOW have some sort of interest in your brand. Whereas using Facebook marketing, or other forms of marketing, you are simply taking a gamble at the right audience.

Also with email, you are able to speak directly to your audience and keep giving them incentives to buy from you, which in turn will hopefully generate you a lot more sales.

A couple tips I can give you for email marketing:

1) Don't email too often and don't email too little. Yes, that sounds confusing I know. But it's very important. This tip all depends on your brand. If you have new products and content continuously being produced, then you may want to send emails slightly more regularly, but not too regularly. You do not want people unsubscribing because you are now spamming them.

2) Provide incentives. To get people to sign up to receive your emails, you will probably need to give them an incentive. Offer a discount or maybe even a free product or sample? Same goes for when they are subscribed to you. Every once in a while, offer a discount only to those who are on your email list. This way people will be more inclined to stay with you. Better yet, offer them rewards for referring friends to sign up.

3) Have a system or strategy in place. Don't go sending emails out at any time or day and hope for a 50% conversion rate. It doesn't happen. Research the best times and days to send emails, as well as the best way to make your emails appealing. Good times for email, in my opinion, are 7am, Midday and 6pm. All of these times are hot points for people to checking their emails. When they first wake up, when they are checking their emails and when they get home.

4) Segment people (if possible). This is only relevant if you have a large email list. Once you have a lot of people on your email list, you will start to learn that they want different things and sending them all the same email is only going to lead to people unsubscribing. So, if possible, segment them into different data pots. This way you can keep them happy by only sending them emails that are relevant to them.

Hope all of this helps :)

Regards,

Jack

Welcome aboard, Jack!

There's a lot to learn here at Wealthy Affiliate, and the site can seem overwhelming. Your best bet is to click the "Get Started Here" link near the upper left hand corner of the page. I've found that you will get the most out of Wealthy Affiliate if you simply work through the course materials in the order presented.

You'll get a lot out of your WA Starter membership, and I think you'll soon find that the benefits of upgrading to Premium are too good to pass up, particularly the free Web hosting.

If you have any questions, just ask.

To your success,

Charlie Essmeier
