Downloading the WA Videos
Why download the WA videos?
Maybe your internet connection is a bit iffy and you have to wait for the video to load
Maybe you're going away for a few days to an area without a good free wifi connection
Maybe, like me, you just like to watch videos and be able to pause them, resume them hours later or watch and replay them whenever you want etc
If so, being able to download the WA videos would be very useful.
WA don't want you to do this. If they did they'd be a 'Watch video offline' ( or similar ) download button by each video.
But it is very handy to be able to do this.
The reason I thought about doing it was just to watch Kyle's almost 2 hour long 'Brain Dump' video. I tried once before got 30 minutes in and then the internet went off for a second and I couldn't resume from where I was.
I prefer to be able to watch something that long when I want and also without worrying if my internet cuts off and I have to go back to the start, or it crawls and pauses every few minutes.
So, I needed a solution and reached for my trusty video down loader browser extension.
What I use is a Chrome browser extension called 'GetThemAll'
Install it then go to a page with a video on it
Click the little GetThemAll icon in the top right of your browser.
You'll see it open and give you all the things that can be downloaded - from images to javascript used to embedded video files that are hidden.
( If you've ever wanted to download every single photo from a webpage very quickly then this is the extension for you. No more right clicking and saving )
Click on the Video/Flash videos tab
Then just select the video you want to download.
Most vids have a SD or HD option, SD is lower quality. It won't show the actual name of the video but it's pretty easy to guess that if there are two different videos on the page the longer one will have a bigger file size.
Or if there are two options for a single video the better quality one will be a much larger file.
Once downloaded you just need to pay it back. Your current media player may well do that. But, if it doesn't, use the free VLC player, I use that for playing all types of videos on my PC.

I'm impressed how that worked considering the program I paid $97 for can't record the WA videos. thanks!
