The Art of Writing

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY.
Writing has transpired over the years from the early realm of prehistory, using Greecian and Romanian tablets in the 6th millennium B.C., to the fascinating Hieroglyph System created by the Egyptians and perserved in scribes dating back to c. 3200 BC.
If you are a History buff as I, you can appreciate the different forms and cultures that writing was developed from. It has far since then expanded into different languages and pronunciations.
DID YOU KNOW.
Ideas are always centered around conversation. When we think, we store up every single piece of information presented to our mind. Every thought or conversation that has ever taken place is still within us! So, in discussing certain tidbits of threads, our thoughts are stored until a later date. When we sit down to write, whatever goes from pen to paper, has been discussed previously in the past and at some point in our life, unless we are learning it for the very first time.
MEMOIRS---OBSOLETE?

writers of the past always kept diaries and journals, "memoirs," to reflect on their day. These "memoirs" were also referred to as stories, portrayals, sketches, profiles, monographs, biographies, accounts, chronicles, history, records, depictions, portraits or narratives.
However, coming into the age of technology, "memoirs" have sadly become almost obsolete and a thing of the past, as has writing letters, sending Christmas cards, hand-writing manuscripts and doing written schoolwork. Yes, they have almost vanished, along with the fountain and feather pens and ink blots of the Benjamin Franklin era!
TALKING AT ITS BEST.
Talking out loud, whether to ourselves or to someone else, has always been an effective way in solving a challenge or answering a question. Doing this allows you to hear the words and understand the problem more thoroughly. This releases your thoughts to a broader state. Writing things down on paper or a WORD document divulges a new train of thought and takes on a whole new perspective!
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
This is also true when taking an English examination in school. Choosing a topic to write about always stems from what we've spoken in the past, beginning with all those conversations!
When speaking live in front of an audience or on a video, it helps us to remember and decide what to say if we speak it aloud, and also helps the words to flow, instead of memorizing or following notes.
WRITING---IT'S ALL GOOD!
Writing stimulates our thinking cells from past conversations. It deepens our discovery of new topics and enhances our memory. The thoughts I have written here have, at one time or another, been spoken by me in past conversations.

Great post about writing, loved the history lesson as well. I still struggle with writing as I feel it has to be perfect but I am learning just to let it flow. I will get there it just takes practice and the more I write the better it gets. Thanks for posting.

Oh, congratulations on your daughter's 25th. I couldn't believe that you had a daughter of that age. You guys look more like sisters than mother and daughter :-)

Great Powerful Historical Lesson.
And you revealed many of the sadly forgotten milestone achievements relative to the-art-of-writing because we became an elite member of the aspiring class. We/I were highly blessed to be amongst the learned. We earned currency because we were empowered.
The old school 'Parental' guidance said "... go to school! I want you to learn the 3Rs... I don't want you to be like me, I want better for you... Go to School, and be great!"
And guess what...?
I grew up going to the library mobile every two weeks, and would read, and read, and go hide secretly hide reading to escape housekeeping chores. At the time..., it was to learn about distant places, write class reports to earn additional credits to ensure a solid grade, hopefully... A+, but definitely to rank against the girls who seem to always get an "A"
OK, I know... I oddly am reminiscent of another time, but you offer validation and approval for many of us. So..., It was my chuckled pleasure to read "The Art Of Writing."
