Newbies in Training- Revisit Your Early Posts!
The early days of training are a whirlwind at WA. I have only been here since June, and I have loved it!
I dove headlong into the training, and couldn't believe how much I learned in my first few weeks at WA. I followed the training, built a website, created content, connected with a lot of like-minded people, and I kept moving forward.
My website was indexed and I was excited. A couple of posts were indexed and I was more excited. I was getting the ball rolling...
However, as with any sort of training or process, there is a fair amount that doesn't sink in on the first go around. I realized this in real life this weekend when I decided to go through my very first few posts on my site.
When I created them I had very little insight into keywords, SEO, etc... everything we learn about here at WA. I was just creating content around the lesson on I was working through at the moment.
As I went through my earliest posts this weekend I found that they were lacking quite a bit. A testament to both my ignorance and just how far I have come in a short time here at WA.
So I spent Sunday reworking the first three posts in the history of my site. I woke up this morning with emails in my inbox notifying me that all three posts had been indexed by Google.
They had been sitting there unrecognized for weeks because I knew next to nothing when I wrote them. They were recognized in hours when I went edited them with a new level of understanding.
This isn't just a post for newbies, but it may be more significant if you're new to this whole game. I think we can gain a great deal of value by applying new insights into the content we have already created.
Revisit your old content often and let it more accurately reflect what you know about MMO and who you are.
Cheers,
Haven

I think it's always a great idea to go back and have a look at things once a little time has gone by.

Yes, we do this. Have reviewed lots of training and found we missed things the first go around.
Thanks for posting; it makes good sense.
Congratulations on your indexed posts!

It's always great to see content indexed. I think we always miss a few things on the first go around.

Hi Haven
LOL - yip, I also got a "surprise" when I read my first posts. [roll eyes] Amazing how much we learn in such a short time, isn't it?
Thanks for the reminder and valuable info!

It really is pretty cool to be able to see some things through very different eyes than just a couple of months ago.
I did shudder a few times a though!
