I tried following the directions on a training about it, but I got lost and confused. I need someone to walk me through it. Thanks,
Virginia
Check out the YouTube videos on Table of Contents there may be more than one plugin or an explanation on how to install table of contents just a thought
That is a plugin that I already installed and then deleted because I could not figure out how to use it. I am very unskilled with computers.
I use the Easy Table of Contents plugin and love it. Once you install it, you just input what headers you want to be picked up for your TOC and it will do it automatically for every post.
Then whenever someone clicks on a post, it automatically loads it right after the intro.

Hi Janelle - I know it's ultimately a personal choice, but what settings do you use? I've gone with the default and it puts the icons after every extract on the front page.
Also, Standard/Floating?
Would appreciate any comments?
Ian
I do it pretty simple, the plugin picks up every H3 header to use for the Table of Contents, and it's placed right after the intro section before the first header.
As I'm writing my posts, I just have to be mindful of the header sizes I use when creating different sections. But my writing template is pretty standard for all posts, so once I set up the Easy Table of Contents, I haven't had to touch it again--my kind of plugin!
I just wish I understood all this stuff! What is easy for you all, goes right over my head!
Here's a couple screenshots of my settings with the Easy Table of Contents plugin. Most of them were already set by default, I just picked the heading size I wanted it to use and to put the TOC in all my posts.
Hope these help!
Hello, I have recently made a training about this, please check on my training. Thanks
Sorry, I’m trying to send you the link but I couldn’t. So please check on my training. Hope it will help you.
Did you try this video, Virginia? Anchor Text, Jump Link, Link to Content on the Same Page, FAQ Links There's also a plugin but I don't remember the name as I don't use it.
I tried two plugins for a table of contents, but I could not figure out how to use them. I am very slow when it comes to computers and tech.
Just take it one step at a time and read the text below the video as well as watching the video.
I did that. Still got confused. I watched the video AND read the text, twice. I will try again tomorrow. I am slow with computer stuff, but I am not a quitter.
I sorry mom that you got frustrated try to do something different and take some rest by tomorrow all will be well
All the best
