No SiteComments for Me! . Aargh

So, Ive been using SiteComments for my sites. Most of the time (75% maybe) have been good comments and relevant to the topic. But, a lot of comments have to be disapproved because they are actually SiteFeedback - BIG Difference!

HOWEVER, ... one of my sites is a women's golf site, and for some reason, most of the comments I've been receiving lately have been from men who have never played golf! ... and they don't even try to "make it real". (Please - I love men - don't take it personal)

Why would a man who doesn't either like or play golf be on my site in the first place?
If the person's website that is asking for a comment isn't one of your interests or you can't make a decent comment, pass it up and choose another.

I put in for a comment on this particular page (http://ladiesgolfshoppe.com/what-is-the-best-golf) and the image shows what I got. Three strikes in a row.

I'm at a loss.

Does anyone have suggestions that might help?

If anyone would like to make a comment on that page (or any other), I will gladly return the favor. I don't know what else to do.

Thank you to all that took the time to listen to my frustration.

Yes, you have to disapprove. They will lose credits and will not be happy.

I raised the question of credits earlier: what happens if the person already used credits earned with such a comments and get comments on his/her site, and you reject his/her comments after that. (S)he is supposed to lose credit, but (s)he already benefited from it. There is a flaw in the system. I did not get any response from K&C.

I think maybe you just get them back but it doesn't deduct them from the other person, I don't know.

I'm not sure, but I think that if someone gets a certain number of disapproved comments, they cannot use SiteComments for a certain period of time.

Yes this is true (thought it is not known how many), but before this happens it is not clear what happens with lost credits as I described above.

Well, there is already an excess of credits due to the way it's a 2:1 exchange ratio, so I assume they just get absorbed into that.

I totally agree, it's annoying. Just disapprove them and explain to them why. You get the credit back.

Hey Marcus

Yes, of course; incredible though!
Did you see the images above (and one below). Took a couple of days to get one decent comment, and that was just this morning.

We must wage war against these people, drive them out of the SiteComments tool.

Unless they improve, of course ;-)

Maybe you could have some minor quiz that could be of service to the golfing community but filters out those that have little or no interest in golf. i.e.:What is a Bogie? Etc.
Regards

Hahaha - all I can do at this point is laugh.
My new comment below. I will go and give my thanks, then disapprove again - aargh
... maybe I should be thankful for the free SiteFeedback given thru SiteComments and just go on.

I submitted a comment to the URL but did not see it posted afterward. Maybe it is in moderation

Let me know if the problem is on my end and I will retry

Yes, it was in moderation.
Wow - that's great Joy (Maurice)! Now that's how to give a comment.
... thank you, thank you, thank you!

Can I leave one for you?

Hi Joanne,

I find posting the link for the post or page you want comments on in the course training works wonders....and cost you nothing. Kyle encourages people to share their pages and posts for feedback and comments...just make sure you ask for a comment when you add the link to the feed in the courses.

Hope this helps you out.

Rick

Thanks Rick!
- appreciated

You aren't the only one who's been experiencing this problem. I've also gotten a lot of feedback for comments and even if they're flattering I don't approve them because they aren't comments. I only make comments on sites where I have some interest or knowledge about the topic and I think that should be the obvious way to go.
Erica

Thanks Erica
... Yes! Not sure how to make that happen though - it's been going on for a while and hasn't gotten any better.

At least it's nice to be understood!

I have a feeling we are not the only ones. I was thinking that I wish I could make a comment on your site but I don't play golf (at all). If it was about tennis I'd be happy to!

Hahaha - you're very kind! Thank You!
... if I can give you a good comment I will - I'll check it out later.

Do you get mostly women on your fragrance site?

I get both but mostly women. There were mostly men for a Father's Day Gifts blog. Sometimes men say they're shopping for their wife or girlfriend. One was from a woman who said she was allergic to perfume but I approved it because it was an actual comment and some people are allergic. What about you? I would think mostly women since it's about ladies golf.

This site is somewhat new without a whole lot of organic traffic yet, so I have to rely mostly on SiteComments for now until I really get rolling with it - it will come.

Patience is a virtue:)

Yes!
Thanks Erica - you've been great!

I wonder if Kyle is not able to flat out tell people to comment the way we want because it could technically be looked at as gaming the system and that's not what we are here to do at wealthy affiliate. There is probably a bit of a gray area there.

Hi Daniel
The difference between SiteComments and SiteFeedback is simple, but people don't seem to be getting it.

SiteComments are for engaging comments on a particular post presented to the system. It has been clearly stated what each are for - so I just don't get it.

As far as my niche, comments for women are more valuable for me obviously, but I also enjoy comments from men if they are On Topic.

I think it's new folks jumping in without really understanding the difference between Site Comments and Site Feedback. Feedback is constructive feedback on our sites ... things that would make them better. Feedback is not intended to be a public comment on our sites.

Site Comments are designed to improve site "engagement" and are intended to be included (made public) on our sites. The best way to do this is for the commenter to include an "on point" question. The instructions in our SiteRubix portal states this pretty clearly.

Joanne I think there is an update in the works that is going to better explain to new folks the exact difference between the two platforms. That might cut down on this problem

Thanks Tim!
I hope so. I put this request in for one comment several days ago, and still nothing. I don't want to re-write every comment I get.

I understand that. I hope you have better luck.

Appreciated - I might have to try putting my requests on the "Share" posts page etc., but I don't know how well that works at the present time. Maybe I'll try.

Thanks again Tim
