I am always assured that my effort is rewarded properly because I am my own "best friend".
Though seemingly self absorbed as a statement, what it means is this:
Do my decisions to act in a particular way effect others good or bad, yes surely they do... but I can only control my own feelings and intentions and so I take inventory of my own "Why" and if it fits my standard, then it is the best I can offer
Where I think this applies to following others is. I follow others to Learn and gain perspective in this wonderful pursuit "Affiliate Marketing". My intention is to engage them and If in fact they respond I have a new connection and Viola the feeling is mutual.

I also like to follow back, every month I check on how many people is following me then I can follow them back.
Good question. There was a time when I realized that if I followed everyone back I would not be able to continue to gather more followers. Somewhere I heard that there was a limit of 2000 people we can follow. So I tried to be selective and follow people who I either felt I could help or I could learn from.
